Hey guys, I am new to these forums, mainly do subaru stuff. But I have a question which is mainly aimed at all the guys out there using power fc's. I have one for my car, liberty rs, and I am running a Z32 afm at the moment. But I was wondering if you were able to elimate the use of the AFM with the PFC? I know that there was a special kind of PFC that was made, that didn't use an AFM, but pretty sure they were only made for a skyline, no subaru's.

But my question is, are you able to use a Air flow Converter, or Super air flow converter in conjuction with the PFC to get rid of the AFM?

Thanks in advance,

Mitch

You still need to have a signal coming in to bend. Where are you going to get you air flow reference from then? Why have a signal bender if you have a programmable ecu?

Need afm for normal pfc. Not need one for d-jetro.

If you search there is craploads of info on this topic.

^^ As he said you will still need a signal to tell the pfc how much air is coming to the engine, the AFC and the PFC are only piggy back computers as where the PFC is a stand alone ecu so running a PFC and SAFC will only interfere with each other

you could run an safc and powerfc if you wanted but it wont achieve much

the safc wont allow you to ditch the afm to run a map sensor

have a look for the hks vein pressure converter, see if you can get that for your car

can you run two afms. i think with a safc you can have two inputs and convert it to one output then feed that signal into the pfc. or is the powerfc able to do this conversion aswell.

yeah you need the safc to run two afms on a single AFM powerfc (or stock ecu conincedently)
