So nismo upgrade kit it is.

The other half has given me a go ahead for 2 weeks time if that's ok Beer Baron?

Beer/Baron & Dave, Which kit would you consider for the street? 8kg or the 12kg? Keeping in mind the ramp angles of the std diff are lesser than that of the nismo diff. The std gtr diff engages smoothly/requires more throttle where as the nismo locks up real quick.

Unless the kit also replaces the pressure rings which I'm fairly certain it doesn't?

yeah mate, if you can't get one cheaper here I'm happy to get one for you.

it's it's purely a street fun car I don't think it will matter too much between 8kg or 12kg. maybe go the 8kg for some less savage lock under deceleration, but to be honest you are not generally braking massively hard on the street anyway so it shouldn't be a problem. and as you said the ramp angles on the centre are kinder than most aftermarket 2 ways.

Ye i had mine done years ago by a person in the know.

I love it, you'd pick it for something aftermarket, but without the harshness in a way as it wont lockup when driving around a car park... but any more and its 2 wheels.

Was a bit nasty one night in the wet down a hill as i wasnt that used to it. But nothing that i dont learn to be wary of :)

I provided a spare working centre for mine, and that combined with what was left of my dead one i think made up the new one.

So im guessing just the plates inside, add a few more and get the result you want

I drove a mates GTR with a tight nismo center in it a few days ago.

VERY VERY nice diff I must say; regardless of its steeper ramp angles it was still easy to throw a u-turn without it locking and shuddering. Slight more throttle and it was wobbling the rear and grating the inside tyre.

The Nismo GT Pro's are MUCH MUCH more aggressive; you have to basically clutch it otherwise it clunks and bangs with the slightest throttle input; not all that good for parking or when mr policemen are around.

Nismo Upgrade Clutch pack FTW.

9krpm,

I'm a little way off and spent a few $$ on a new gearbox.

One thing after another; the joys of a modified car.

If only the diff would completely break so I would then have an excuse to use for the missues. lol

I'm looking at 2-3weeks away to muster up some pocket money lol for the nismo upgrade pack. :)

I am cool with that Cubes. I am in no rush to change it yet as the diff is not slipping yet but I think it will be soonish :(

so who wants the nismo diff upgrade kit?

I'm going to order some stuff today so it's best for me to include this stuff. saves me cost of TT fees etc.

They are the same price for both types of kit. either 45ft/lbs or 75ft/lbs. I know nismo japan have the 45ft/lbs kit in stock but not sure on the 75ft/lbs kit.

Let me know today if you want one. You can pay me in the next few days but I just need to know for sure who's in, so I can place my order today.

yeah thats goood. i threw out all my little nismo bags with the part numbers.

the main advantage is the factory setup only has 1 friction disc conecting the case to the axle. so the problem is not it being to loose. but it actually stripping the said single friction disc.

so the "upgrade" adds an aditional 2 driven discs on each side. so going fron 2 to 6 driven discs makes them much more durable.

putting in these upgrade discs is a piece of cake. but YOU HAVE TO THROW AWAY THE THICK SPACER at the end of each side. the extra plates make up the diferance.

so putting this set in your standard diff makes it a "nismo 2 way" the nismo one you buy complete it just this.

I just pulled apart my R32 rear lsd and there is no 2 thick washers in there? Can you clarify what you are saying cos im getting heaps confused with it all at the moment.
