Once again the 8 hour drive was well worth the effort. Pizza Hut has a whole new image for me now and before Saturday night I've never seen dolphin fly (in one case with disasterous results). And the car part was fun too.

We hope you can make it up to our Texicahana and you can be assured that Team BTR will be back and much better than last time.

I dunno how long I can keep saying this but I reckon it's the biggest yet.....again :D I did say it was going to be a DECA of epic proportion and it didn't fall short buy any means. Was great to catch up with you all again and there will be PLENTY of photo's to come :) Big thanks to those who organised and ran the event and a big thanks to the rest of you all for making it such an ACE weekend!

PS - Good work to the NSW crew for making the trip down and for all the effort on the shirts and stickers etc.

3 :bunny: ,2 :),1  ,Gooooooooooone.....:P

i was happiest at the end of the day ... topping it off with a little bit of umm "enthusiastic" driving ... :P

Your car is nuts :bunny:

Thanks all for having us down there again i had a blast :D

Lets see some pics/vids?! :)

Thanks for the spew buckets - you guys always entertain

Well done Adz, forgot that one, thanks to Corrine for the shirts. Mine has just emerged from the dryer after a tip from Ash about shrinkage and now fits nicely! :P

Good work from Team NSW on making the trip and I see Sunshine is lurking on here too so obviously made it back safely. Great bunch of guys and girls and definately made the day and night memorable.

What an awesome event/night!

Highlights:

SILVER BULLET - I love 32's!! :P

Flange or Snatch! :bunny:

Drift Landcruiser nearly bet Evan driving James' EVO on the skid pan!

Flying Dolphins!

Bris trying to kill me during his 80% run on the long wang.

Handbags providing countless funny moments and then not remembering any of them this morning! (Can't wait for photos)

Spew Buckets prepared from Taco Baz on all tables!

Meeting a member of the bandidos on the walk home, Scary!

Paying some local $10 to drive us home because we were so smashed and listening to the driver singing some random hip hop crap in the car, not even the other people in the car knew what she was singing.

Ryan on the phone to Jarrod late last night saying "I can't believe you've gone home, all the other co drivers are here, you're sacked from co driving at Dutton" and sure enough Jarrod came back!

Thanks for letting me steer your car bris, I love it, gate is sooo cool and the silver bullet loves the rev limiter!! Looking forward to a fun time at Dutton next week! Team Gate! :)

Thanks again for all the hospitallity guys, another great DECA!

Big cheers to everyone who helped out to get the day running so well!

bed time now, 9 hour drive has taken its toll! :P

Do they still have 'my' cactus at that strip club? :bunny:

Sorry i missed it guys and girls.... the pics i got on my phone (before i truned it off) looked like it was going to be another night full of Hijinks and shenanigans!! :P

Yet another GREAT DECA weekend!! Had a ball.

Thanks to all that joined Ryan, David, Evan and I celebrate our b'days over the weekend.

The event was another successful day. I took alot of photos of the first group, in the morning, on the skid pan, but was happy to help run the pan for the rest of the day, so the camera was put away.

Big thanks to Paul for driving me there and back; especially when i fell asleep for at least 1hr45min on the way back home.

Photos to come when i could be bothered uploading them :P

Bris trying to kill me during his 80% run on the long wang.

Bris! i heard about your sighting lap! How did the tyres hang in there for the drive home?

Adz. Land cruiser drifting was tops!

As always great to meet more new people and catch up with friends. I had a great time.

Huge thanks for helping me out with the tyres on the day. Hung in there fine. Car got home ok on the dead tyres. Now to get them swapped over.

Will get the rims back to you when i get a chance. Abd again, a huge thanks, would have been lost without your help

Wooo!

We made it back alive!

Another huge weekend, both Friday and Saturday nights! I didn't realise how hard is it to stop yourself from drinking yourself stupid on Friday before DECA starts!!??

Thanks for all the great organisation, I felt very fortunate to get in to this event. The calibre of the driving is just getting way better and better :bunny:

And yes how could I forget the antics at the local strippers! First time i've ever been involved in a 'beer favoured taco". My shirt still smells of stale beer :P

So many stoires - but what happens at DECA, is supposed to stay at DECA!! (but rarely is that the truth!)

haha it was a tops event hey

- friday night at pizza hut, that was a pisser

- someone's comment (cant remember who) to a group of "young" girls walking past only to have the mum and aunty walk past moments later saying 'thats my daughter' haha

- the random dude getting pulled over the cops and us all walking up

- the walk home and traditional kfc

- special thanks to the nsw gang who came, good effort - hope you had a blast

    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
    • Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
