Just to clarify. The car was originally tuned by Mark Jacobson and span up 305hp. The initial run on Micks dyno read 312hp, so if you want to make corrections based on that, go for it.

Haters

everyone knows the ambient at ipswich is colder :woot:

nice work warwick. how was last night?

FFS, no one is hating...

Simplly pointed out the facts... As said about 5 times now, a dyno does not provided a sheet for braging rights, its a tuning tool...

And as there was a vast improvement from the original run then fantastic, thats great, very happy for them, super doopyer... Now is that hating still?

why do dyno threads always end like this!

Warwick, Awesome result. I will be taking my car there soon to see if I can get my issues sorted, I am looking forward to a good result having seen yours.

To the shoot out mode doubters...build a bridge, 90% of dyno results you hear/see are shoot out mode, shoot out mode is as close as we have to parity across the country, my car got dynoed in Sydney at 2 different places and 2 in Brisbane and the results were within 5%.

If every one was using shoot out mode we probably wouldn't be having this conversation, it may be considered higher than mainline or dynologic dynos but if everyone was on the same type of dyno 250rwkw or what ever would mean the same thing to every one

everyone knows the ambient at ipswich is colder :)

It was good....Jays nads haven't shrunk

My car got all nostalgic and blew a cooler hose otw home, luckily John came and rescued me.

why do dyno threads always end like this!

Yeah I think I should make a "Dyno thread, all you need to know" in the general motorsports section...

Get everyone to add they bits and pieces to it and make it like the official faq/info for dyno threads in the future...

As this seems to pop up all the time, and its not really what this thread is about...

But basiclly the best way I can explain shootout mode to everyone is;

"It levels the playing field in dyno comps/dyno days"

Either which way people look at a power figure a dyno is just a tuning tool, dont pay any attention to the power you output, look at the curve and AFR's. Thats the sexy bit... :)

Looking at that image and hearing Warricks thoughts, Im sure hes a happy customer as anyone would be with a good result...

My car got all nostalgic and blew a cooler hose otw home,

Didnt you recentlly change your hose clamps over to avoid this from happening again???

You must be cursed with blowjobs... (Meaning pipes blowing all the time)

Yea Bunta, I agree.

Good idea Col, start another thread will all the dyno crap in it and we can keep this one clean and on topic. I think new people to the scene would get benifit out of the info and at the same time threads like this one won't become bloated.

People could post up their results at Signature here (and similar threads for other workshops in QLD) and discuss dyno stuff in a single location. Sounds crazy but I think it could work.

i did a power run there on monday in my ceffy, made 228hp which is roughly 168kw?? thought was ok considering spark is dying and have squashed cooler pipes ahaha splitfires come tomorrow hopefully n il chuck new piping on n see how we go then

btw stock rb25 just exhaust n basics

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
    • Nissan needs to forget about building SUVs in every size possible and bring back the damn Silvia/200sx duo to compete with the 86/brz. Maybe with the Honda type r motor pointing the right way
