Hi Guys,

Just a qucik question because i'm at work and can't sort through 50 posts to find an answer...Can someone confirm is r32 rb20det boxes are the same as r33 rb25de boxes? I've heard casual talk here and there that they are and need some confirmation...are they physically identical or with slight differences? Gear ratios the same? any input would be greatly appreciated...cheers fellas....

33's have stronger boxes..

From what I remeber.. (and please dont take my word for it.. it was a long time ago and was just flipping through the manual).. but.. I think the 33 1st 2nd 3rd gears are SLIGHTY taller.. only by 2-5 teeth..

i dont think that works mate...you can use a 25box behind the rb20...but the 25 box is slightly longer and you just need to make up a bracket to weld onto the std crossmember so it picks up the original holes. Two of the std one will line up and the bracket will let you reach the other two.

you could use th 32 box but i wouldn't count on it lasting long, they're not the strongest of box. your talking about putting a rb25det in a 32 and using the 32 box, tht could be done. 32's and 33's have different final drive (diff) ratio's so your speedo would be out if you put a 33 box on a 32 diff.

i dont think that the 33 na box is any stronger than the 32 box, most people same they are the same but it may only be refering to the gears themselvers and not the whole box because i think they are slightly different
