Hey

Purchased an intercooler kit last night from Japan for my R32. Its a BLiTZ M intercooler kit, and the owner in Japan isnt' sure if it was a 2 layer intercooler or 3?

Now, whats the difference in a 2 layer and 3 layer intercoolers?

How can you tell if its a 2 layer or 3 layer?

Searched the forums, but couldn't find anything and had a quick look through google but same, nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Abu

it will become evident when you look in there. if when you look inside there are 2 cores to each tube then it's 2, if there are 3 it's 3 etc etc. :)

Ah very nice! Thanks Richard.

Just another question, any benefits over a 2 layer to a 3 layer?

I mean its just for a street tuned RB20, hoping for something around 180rwkw+

I am assuming it will not make any difference, but if someone could tell me the pros and cons of a 2 layer & a 3 layer that would be great!

I am just curious for future reference.

Thanks.

I am yet to see an intercooler that has even two cores let alone three.

Radiators come in dual and triple core which is I think what you are thinking of.

I have seen a 3 layer GREDDY intercooler before..

BLiTZ, GREDDY etc advertise there coolers as 2 or 3 layer cores.

Reason I put the thread up was because I wanted to know if this particular cooler came in 2 layer or 3, as I cant see it until it arrives from Japan

Also wasn't sure on the difference between 2 layer and 3, besides the fact that it has an extra layer lol

lol, well if you've seen the 3 layer greddy core before then you know exactly what to look for. same as the greddy one only with 2 cores instead! though to be honest I think the blitz m is probably single core.

LoL yep, I suspected it was something to do with thickness of the core, but after you told me how to check the layers, I checked my mates GREDDY cooler. Suprisingly enough 3 layer.

BLiTZ M single layer!! Nooo

This is what I wanted to get clarified as the previous owner in Japan wasn't sure if it was a 2 layer or a 3 layer!

I hope its not a single, not like it would make a difference but..

I tired searching for BLiTZ M I/C's on google/yahoo to get some specifications, but coudn't manage to source anything.

I'm guessing its a rather old product from BLiTZ that why.

If anyone has has any more information or specifications on the kit please let me know!

Thanks
