Hey guys,

Well after realiseing my car wasnt sitting righ, I went to adjust my coilovers the other day only to find the bottom height adjustment bracket has seized due to the insane amount of dirt and grime covering them. Im going to hit them with the gernie and various combinations of wd40, degreaser, washing detergent etc tonight and see it thet does anything. I was just wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience, and if so, how did you go about it?

Cheers

Ryan

ive used coil overs for the last 20 odd yrs in speedway best way to keep the dirt out of the thread is to wrap duct tape around the exposed thread to stop the crap getting there in the first place. a reguler spray of penatrene helps as well . some speedway cars now use a sock that completly covers the shock to stop the dirt as well .

cheers mid life crisis

i sent mine to fulcrum... they oxyd off old ones and replaced them lol. Befor i sent them though i got one loose... i used wire brush to clean and then penetrene the shit out of them. Try wire brush... that will get all the shit off... then penetrene will clean under them. Just dont go moving it if its dirty cause it will cease even worse.

Hey choku, would you mind letting me know how much the work set you back? I have a set of zeals but I suspect the front tophats may need replacing. Im just trying 2 weigh up the cost of replacing/repairing them vs buying a new set of coilovers all together

Cheers

Ryan
