Must be a higher turnover for RB26 - cause surely the rods arent THAT much different

well- they are longer

but not $40 worth of metal longer each :)

mebe ppl just think RB30 rods are awesome and should just be left as is :D

doubt it- the extra ~11mm of stroke would cancel out the extra rod length. and the piston speed would be slower on an RB26 at the same revs anyway

And the rod ~31mm longer. That's more than an inch. Tell me that an extra inch isn't all that handy?

It's all about the angles. . The extra crank throw is halved, so it's not the full amount of the extra stroke (11.23) But you do get the full rod length difference (30.9). And if you needed to spin the 30 to the same revs you'll be flowing alot more. Stroke:rod is a bit better at 1.79 on the 30, 1.64 on the 26.

Haha and at the end of the day the angle works out to be a bit more than 1 degree.

But isn't all this rubbish in the RB30 thread?

ps I think the rods are more expensive on the 30 as they are more popular, and he isn't moving any of the 26 stock at all. Liquidation time!

but he's not using a 26 crank in a 30 block- so it's no different to a normal RB30

since when do economies of scale make the more popular parts more expensive? Ferraris are popular and expensive, but only coz they don't make many of 'em. i reckon it's just because people use expensive aftermarket rods in 30's less often.

I always knew that the angle of the dangle was proportional to the lust of the thrust.
Dammit I thought it was the throb of the knob. No wonder I've been getting it wrong.

Steve: no probs. I have a fair amount of hoarder's rubbish that I'll list up as freebies, just need to get the motivation to list it all.

lol!

Yeah thats cool, seeing as you're so close let me know and ill come take your hoarders rubbish an turn it onto my hoarders rubbish :) But yeah, let me know what you have lying around :P

Heya, it's mainly odds and ends from RB motors. Some of it might be worth a couple of dollars, some of it not really. Have got sumps, intakes, exh manifolds, wiring looms, CPUs, oil block plates, injectors, pipework, turbos, dry sump bits, brakes, rear end parts, rods etc. One of those things I keep meaning to post up but never get around to. And at the moment everything is piled up ontop of each other in an effort to give me space to work on my car, so access is a bit of a bitch.

i'm in need of a stock RB26 sump if you have one doughy? not after a freebie though will happily stump up some cash if you've got one.

Have got a GTS-4 one and a 26 one. Was meant to be checking the ratio on the GTS-4 one for someone (I forget, yes I am lazy but I still remember I need to do that one day). I'll PM you midweek and let you know what ratios they are.

I admit that it's not really rubbish, just stuff that has no interest for me anymore. Not when there are 3 V8's sitting here, with 2 over 1500hp....
