Simmo1985
Hi all, I've got a R33 S2 and I'm looking to upgrade my exhaust to either a 3" or 3.5" turbo back exhaust. I've apparently already got a HKS cat back exhaust, not 100% sure on size however. (only got the car Monday night). What's my best bet? Should I just go to an exhaust shop and see what they can do for me? Should I keep the HKS catback and mix in other parts or would it be better to order a certain full TBE package from somewhere? I'm happy to support SAU suppliers if this is the case. I'm in Brisbane if that helps. SLIPPERY
whats wrong with the HKS? Maybe just add a decent front pipe to the mix and thatll do Stick with 3 inch too if youre not planning on running more than 300rwkw Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/182781-upgrading-exhaust/#findComment-3315705 Share on other sites
RBwhatever
Add a high flow cat to that and you'll be set. 3" Dump/Front Pipe + 3" or bigger High Flow Cat + 3" HKS Cat-back= 3" Turbo-back Exhaust Edited August 29, 2007 by KeyMaker Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/182781-upgrading-exhaust/#findComment-3315713 Share on other sites

RBwhatever
HKS wouldnt even make something sub-3 inch would they? Doubt they would. Unless it was for NA. Anything turbo would be 3" minimum. Simmo1985
Thanks for the replies. Looking at the Just Jap website, would this combo be a good option to use with my current HKS Catback. JJR Split Dump & Front Pipe - Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T Price: $269 High Flow Design - 3 inch Stainless Steel X-Force 3 Inch High Flow Cat - Nissan Skyline R33 Price: $199 Flanged - Flows up to 570 CFM Would such a system be legal - db wise? Simmo1985
@SLIPPERY: When I was looking at exhausts for my WRX I was told that a lot weren't interchangeable. Wasn't sure if this would be the case with the HKS. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/182781-upgrading-exhaust/#findComment-3316101 Share on other sites

If your current exhaust system is quiet now, then after you add the dump/front pipe and high flow cat it'll be the same. The cat back controls most of the sound. abu
3" turbo back would be perfect, with a high-flow 3" CAT. If you dont like it to loud I suggest you put a resonator or a muffler in as a straight through 3" which a CAT will be fairly loud! TramanBaba
and just jap does them for cheaper than those mentioned on the website. Visit their trader section on SAU for more details.
