Turbo Is Making A Kettle Sound, Wat The?

Hi guys, notice this recently. When driving and turbo idle is around 1-2 psi, the turbo would make a kettle sound. Is this normal? Is the turbo dying? Thanks.

The sound description seems more like a leak somwhere rather than a turbo dying etc..

Check the flange gaskets in the exhaust. A friend has a leaky gasket between dump and front pipes and makes a high pitched whistle on low boost.

Well driving the car above 1-2psi, then the sound disappears. So I just thought that the turbo was making the sound. Assuming thats all

Could this maybe explain my problem as well then. I get a bit of a whistling sound that seems to dissapear at high boost(I just figured other noises overpowered it). I also get black stuff over the back of my car(not losing any oil, runs rich due to blocked off BOV). Could it be my cat? I always figured it was a small boost leak somewhere.

when I had my standard blow off valve on it seemed to whistle under the conditions you describe when I changed it noise gone.

The car is stock other then the pod filter changed. Would it be better to take it to a performance store or something to get it checked? Might think of taking it to EAS performace in the future.
