Gday,

On my r33 gtst I've worn my right front inside shoulder down bare. I'm guessing I've got too much neg camber on this front wheel. Left front is heading down the same path.

How is the camber adjusted on an r33, is it adjustable without buying an aftermarket camber pin kit? Or is this more to do with alignment? The car itself tracks straight, hence i'm guessing camber problems.

I like the standard camber angle and would leave it alone. if you adjust it for best tyre wear the car will handle like sh1t. Just take the tyres off and swap them over so they wear on the other side. my falken's wore badly like this. i've had bridgestone s03's now for about 10,000km and havent flipped the fronts yet and they dont even look like wearing unevenly.

I dont know about rotating for better wear. A lot of performance tyres are directional. I'd recommend the camber adjustment kit or an extension on the standard adjustment. Whether it will handle like shit or not depends if you are racing. For street, I can tell you it makes no difference to handling....how do I know?....cos I had all four of my wheels camber adjusted back in for wear reasons. Go to a reputable suspension mob for quality advice RB25 my good man!

you can still swap side with directional tyres, you just need to have them rotated on the rim at the same time (so they point the other way).

And i'd check both camber and toe-in, it can probably be adjusted within the factory adjustment without needing a kit.

guys - in my post i said to take the tyres off the rims. so what you do is leave the rims on the car and swap tyres keeping them pointed in the proper direction. this will wear them on the other side. trust me - i do it all the time.

and no - you cant rotate directional tyres. i do this coz i have 235 on the front and 275 on the back....

RB25.....fair cop, I agree you could swap the tyres. But I think the best would be to sort the prob out once and for all ?? Each to his own....I just couldn't be stuffed rooting around every couple of months swapping tyres. My tyres were wearing out on the inner side down to bald at around 6-8 months. That would mean, after swapping, I would still only get 12-16 months out of a set of fronts...maybe a tad longer on the rear. Now I have the problem sorted, I've seen diddly squat wear on front or back....no stuffin around...no change in handling.

Just my experience.

cheers Ozzy

Not enough negative camber. Same as my car, got kmac strut tops and still cant get enough. Grrrrr.

If you have your car set up for good front end grip under spirited driving with some decent negative camber, it will wear the inside edge if you just drive around sedately.
