Sau Vic - Help Don1 Find The Right Workshop

Recommended Posts

Good Afternoon Skylines Australia,

My 1990 R32 GT-R has been getting a full engine rebuild, forged pistons and N1s at RE Customs for some time now and I have been totally happy with their service and results, and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

The problem is now my engine is all fixed up I want to have a good hard look at the interior and exterior - maybe get a paint job, new boot, some new seats, a new wheel etc. I am also looking to get a good alarm system installed.

RE Customs only do engine work so I am looking for advice about what might be a few good workshops to look into. I looked through the workshops thread but couldn't really find much. If I can take my car to one shop and get all of the interior/exterior and alarm taken care of then that would be great - but any info on any workshops that do any of this is most appreciated.

Thanks in advance to anybody who can point me in the right direction.

Dude... 3 posts in 20mins lol.

Spray work - Micolour in Cheltenham have been doing excellent work.

As for other things like seats etc. Its more a personal thing. Your better to shop around and see what suits you best really

Wheels. I dont think you can go past Rampant (Aaron).

There are a few places to get you started, good luck with it all

DT Panels for any bodywork. They are in Chingvale across the road from the station

For car alarm installation.

Recommended by Chris Rogers (check out audio section if you dont know him)

Spent about 6 hours installing my alarm into the car. Removing whole dash etc etc

Know's what he is doing :)

Give em a call

dont mean to hijack and start up another thread but on the same note, anyone know of a good insurance pannel workshop in/near springy? Doesnt have to specialise in imports like DT Pannels. The family corolla got can-opened by a 4x4 reversing out and not looking.

thanks.

edit...never mind its all been sorted. :)

Thanks heaps for the advice!!! I'll give most of them a call and see what they can do. Looks like it might be smartest to take it different places for the exterior, interior and alarm respectively.

Heres what I got....

Exterior/Spray Shops

DT Panels

Micolour

Interior

???????????

Try Con or Andrew at C&A Auto Fashion in Blackburn.

Do those guys do interiors? Or just exterior?

Just take out your interior. its cool.

Do you mean I should rip out my entire interior and put a whole new dash in? How much is that gonna cost me?? Like millions, right?

I'm happy to do that, but pretty clueless on how to "shop around". Where would I look to find a bunch of places that sell/install seats and dashes etc?

Thanks again guys!!

Also Alarms.

If you become a member of SAU-Vic, it will give you access to heavily discounted Alarm installation by a friend of mine who is a supporter of the club :)

It offsets the cost of membership easily, so there are MANY bonuses just there.

They can probably do both. Ask them.

Thanks mate I will. Theyre in the yellow pages? Or do you have a number?

Sweet I'll check it out. Does he also do audio/turbo timer installs? Cause I'd probably get them done at once.

Last time: Is there anything more anyone can tell me about how I can track down a bunch of people that do interior work on cars? Like where I should look. I got no friggin clue.
