nice work snowclown, you are not very good looking but apparently know which is the gas pedal and which is the other ones. double respect for doing it in the GTR rather than a shitbox evo!congrats.

troy you may not have reached my expectations of first outright this year but i'm sure it's not lack of talent but lack of sabotage. take comfort in the fact you are a much more striking individual than any of the other butt monkeys out there. to be honest if you'd stuck with the nsw brisby plates things would have gone well. now with those vic plates on there god is mistaking you for a victorian and punishing you accordingly.

You could be right. I did see the drivers of the white S13 around the "Tin Can" on Thursday night, and i did hear some cutting in the early hours of the morning. Might explain the cracked rotors on the Friday morning. :ninja:

WOW What an awesome last 4 days.

Top work Sonwy and Blaise on your efforts over the weekend you both drove awesomely well all weekend and well deserved to take home the Trophy.

Jarrod and Ryan guys you drove the crapper out of that car and top work for a first shot at Dutton, and to be so high but the ranks good work guys, Next year.......

Juz and Bris.. Guys excellent to fight some issues Friday and still do as well as you did awesome.. Juz im impressed from only a small amount of gate in the early stages to settling into the car and then come sundown not only finding gate but also the limiter HELL YEAAAAAAAAAA... GATEEEE

And i agree the look on Bris's face when you gated it with him asleep was priceless...

Bris old son i think we learn something sat night getting home at 5am when you have to be out at 6am Juz will crack it at us... Mate next time we save it for the Sunday :ninja:

Top work James and Richard for their efforts in the Aston.. James you did get a Muppet award for your love tap to the Evo well deserved :)

And i never thought i would be asked for cable ties to hold an Aston together but Richard was wrapped when i said need some of these showing him some ties...

And Chris and Newton... Well boys Friday night Road trip ROCKED... "OMG do you believe we were just given a Hummer to get home". Let alone the enjoyment of the rest of the trip. You guys did TOPS.. came back after missing 6 events on day one to take home 4 Trophies on the Sat between you and a few more come Sunday tops Effort.

Newton well done on breaking the car again come Sunday arvo in the last event

Huge thanx to Min for putting up with me all weekend cruzing around in the Dumped wagon...

But all in all i had an awesome time spectating over the weekend and guys you are more than welcome for the help had a ball... Next year i'm IN!!!!!

I also have over 600 pics so i'll go through them and post up soon. Here are a few...

And by the way - a MASSIVE thanks to everyone who came to Shep and Sandown, both for the whole weekend or just 10 mins - top work.

Was so great to see so many familiar faces and to hear the cheers everytime any name was read out at the awards.

Even despite being dobbed in as a Muppet :ninja:

Richard was saying this morning how much more fun the Vic event was over NSW - mainly for the amount of camaraderie shown

All be proud of yourselves - Team Wang support crew FTW!

There is no subsitute.

What a massive weekend!

Big congratulations to the level headed team Richmond / Paris taking out the 1st outright crew trophie.

Richmond 2nd Driver outright - Paris 1st Co-Driver outright.

They had a points lead at the end of day one and just drove smart and safe and didn't make any mistakes to take out the event win.

Adam and I had mechanical issues, when I smashed the front diff on a launch on the back track and had rear wheel drive only. We pushed on for two more events, but one of the smashed gears got caught in the crown wheel and punched a hole in the diff casing. Therefore I missed out on three events and Newton missed out on five events.

So we loaded the GTR onto the back of the H2 Hummer and headed back to Melbourne, arrived at Racepace @ 6:30pm and finished the diff repair about 10pm, arrived back in Shep @ 1:15am. Big thanks to Ian and Ben @ Racepace for offering to do the work after hours.

We managed to survive the 2nd and 3rd day right up until the last event when the crack in the diff housing started to leak again as Adam pulled off. What are the odds?

Even with missing three events I managed to claw back up to 14th Driver outright.

Since we could no longer get into the top ten crew points, Adam and I decided to go for single event wins. So we pushed hard and got three single event fastest times each.

The rest of team SAU / Wang had lots of success with everyone getting a mentions for various events and classes.

Congrats to all.

Guys i have also began to upload my pics i have a good 150meg being uploaded at the min so be patient...

And there are more :ninja:

If no images are visible give them time...

Well, well, well..... what a weekend.

HUGE congrats to Snowy and Blaise for taking home the crown, its been a long time coming, but now everyone else knows "Teh GTR can neva lose"!!!

Scottish and Norton - incredibly bad luck with the car, but was ace to see you guys kill it in the trophy department. Fingers crossed for next year.

Fryzie and BigBird - rookies FTW!!!! You both did an ace job all weekend.

Bris and Juz - GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE IT!!!! LOL - everyone loved the noise. Especially all the kids who kept talking about Brisby as "the greatest driver ever". Apparently if its loud its quick. :)

James and Richard - the Aston sure sounded tough out there. James - you truly are a muppet though

Huge thanks also to Mav, Min, Rachael and Melissa. Was ace to have you guys to hang out with while the rest of them played race cars.

Also a round of applause to those who made the trek to Shepp to support the team on Saturday - Dan, Saff, Daz, Tony, Aaron and friend and everyone else who came out on Sunday :)

And thanks to Jack - who always comes prepared with the truck :(

As always, I had an ace weekend and look forward to doing it all again in 2008.

TEAM WANG / SAU VIC REPRESENTZ!!!

Especially all the kids who kept talking about Brisby as "the greatest driver ever". Apparently if its loud its quick. :)

But me and Juz are the best drivers ever! How else could we have mustered the pace we did out of what is the "scariest car in the world to drive?"

I forgot:

Tom - who saved the day for the silver bullet and

Benno and crew for fixing Team Dildo late into Friday night, without you guys the weekend would have ended a lot sooner for 2 of our teams.

You guys rock!

:):)

    • I was chatting with an ex SAU person who is involved in chooning euros now. He was saying the factory cars like Audi VW etc have something like 2000 tables that the ECU uses for getting everything "just right". Compare that back to any aftermarket ECU, and you'd be hard pressed to surpass 50 lookup tables. Even the Ford Barra engine has a few hundred lookup tables to run it (and they're still working some tables out too!)
    • Grab a temp probe, and probe each exhaust inlet runner with it sitting idling. Each one should be pretty darn close to the same temp. If you've got some reading higher or lower than the others, it's likely either air flow isn't equal, or your injectors aren't equal to each other.   The other things to check, is from the wiring changes that were made, were any earth's or grounds moved/changed.   Lastly, for the strut brace issue. It's not perfect, but can you get away with slipping a washer or two under the strut brace to raise it, and it still clean the bonnet? If you can, work out the height you need, that the motor can't torque up into, and get a spacer made for each side.
    • That rusty R32 fuel tank is what we found in Clinton's R32. It has since been replaced with a R32 GTR tank and all it took was a bit of ingenuity in building new fuel tank hangers. I cannot believe how simple the R32 fuel level sender is compared to the R33 unit.
    • Right, I see what you mean now. Mounting the fuel pump bare in the bottom of the tank without its box does look quite questionable: Compared to using the OEM box for the pump:   Just for the record, these are the videos on the hanger and surge tank systems. He explains it quite well.
    • I think, given the other pictures of same on the FPG site, that that is their tame R32 tank with a hole cut in the side used for dev purposes, and the rust is a non-consequential surface finish.
