Awesome result guys!!!!

Leewah - according to the Dutton results Blaise come first in outright co-driver....

Snowy did an awesome job, how the hell did Gazzard beat him outright???

Oooops. My bad. Updated.

I think Snowy lost 1st outright driver because he was pretty much just toodleing the car around the last few events so they could secure 1st outright team which is a monster effort! Blaise was so far ahead in the co driver category, he just had to complete the event and it was guaranteed.

Fine effort people!

Top stuff guys, everytime I read these dutton threads I get itchy. Hopefully I'll get out there too next year.
I'm getting that feeling too.

Well done everyone. Great results. You've done SAU Vic mighty proud.

Great work everyone!

Absolutely fantastic effort from all - so many names read out! Snowy - top stuff. About time!

And massive thanks to Jack for helping us home.

At least we finished!

Congrats to Snowy and Blaise, good to see you've carried on the results from the WA round.

Congrats also to Steve Jones flew over from WA to drive his EVO 7 in Dutton, now he's flying back to do Targa West in his EVO 9, he managed to come 2nd in the Drivers Handicap, and 12th Outright.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the support.

I was struggling all weekend with this flu and it finally got the better of me yesterday afternoon and now today I am totally dead. I'm off to the doctors shortly then will try and get back on and say a few more things.

But until then I'll just leave you with this - THE GT-R IS KING!

Awesome work Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!

Sounds like it was a top weekend and some awesome results!

Good to see SAU VIC out there, if only SAU NSW guys got into it up here!

- Gate

- Scoring a H2 Hummer and trailer for Adam and Chris to drive back to melbourne by asking the owner the following "Can I give you $500 to tow that R33 to Melbourne for us?" the owner answered "Here's the key's just take it yourselves" I didn't realise people like that actual existing, absolute champions! WTF!! :D:worship:

Brisby Brisby Brisby, you my friend are an absolute champion, I had an awesome time and it was all thanks to you, I binned my car a few weeks ago and didn't think I was going to make it to Dutton. Even when we were confirmed entries I was still unsure I was going to pick up driving your car as it is such a 'handful' but it was an absolute dream to drive (It would be a bit of a handful for the average punter though :().

Go Hard or go home! Team Gatecrashers! Team let's bin it! We wearn't the quickest but we were the loudest! :D

1 thing I learnt a long time ago Juz. There is no "I" in team but there is a "U" in c*nt :D

well done boys and girls, top efforts!

glad to see ryan and jarrod doing so well in the 180... team 150rwkw FTW! it proves you don't need a big turbo to get decent results!

I think I will definately be in for dutton next year... providing I don't break the car by then... again:/

1 thing I learnt a long time ago Juz. There is no "I" in team but there is a "U" in c*nt :D

I admit it was a dog move. But if my parole officer knew i left NSW i would be in a lot of trouble :worship:

Juz, i had a ball watching you have a ball. REAL GOOD fun. But i hate being photographed let alone filmed, so pulled a Snagglepuss :( Over the weekend thats only two strikes against my name. If i had mustered a 3rd i may have been in real trouble.

But enjoyed this years so much better then last years...mainly because i was a little better organised...only a little though :iluvff:

LOL..."Exit, stage right"

snagglepuss.jpg

i had soo much fun!

hats off to bris and juz for their efforts in the 32, it was soo cool seeing that scream its way through the events, it was a real crowd pleaser at SPC as well. Snowie and blaise, well done!

Many thanks to ryan for letting me flog his car! He really did have a ripper event taking out first in class and finishing up the pointy end of the event. Everyone kept saying "oh your driving that nissan thing". I was spewing when the guys from ignition dvd came up to me at sandown and said, "oh are you guys finished, i wanted to do a feature on you around the track" NOOOO!!

But the high light for me, and lowest point for this particular individual was," Well i didnt hit anything...I hit an evo", Mr. Muppet, James.

Team organised!! haha. i now have some faith in the saying 'if you bring it, you wont need it'.

Big thanks to Mick at Micolour, without his painjob we wouldnt have been able to get any other sponsors. Thanks to Ray from RE customs, The car didnt miss a beat all weekend! , and Dulux AcraTex for making it a bit easier to do this awesome exent! Also thanks to Dfault for the last minute lend of his Pfc.

Highlights:

Winning the Lambo and Fez for a Weekend!

Seeing my car shoot its first flame!

Actually finishing the event!! With driver and co-driver class results!

Newtons spirited run on the skidpan in the dorifto 2wd gtr, which happened to leak oil everywhere for all the evos to drive on.

The long long wang at Deca. I could do it all day and night! .09 bris!:ninja:

The 32 passing the 430 on the outside! I wanted to go out behind him so i could try it too!!

Being part of the biggest, loudest team there!

Well done to everyone involved, bring on Dutton 08

nice work snowclown, you are not very good looking but apparently know which is the gas pedal and which is the other ones. double respect for doing it in the GTR rather than a shitbox evo! congrats.

troy you may not have reached my expectations of first outright this year but i'm sure it's not lack of talent but lack of sabotage. take comfort in the fact you are a much more striking individual than any of the other butt monkeys out there. to be honest if you'd stuck with the nsw brisby plates things would have gone well. now with those vic plates on there god is mistaking you for a victorian and punishing you accordingly.

    • Also, the cause of fuel spills and smells from the top of the tank is almost always the rubber hoses that are up there, not the tank seal.
    • 1. No, as you say you can remove the connectors and fuel lines. Before you do make sure you remove fuel pump fuse and crank the starter a few times to release pressure, and also loosen the fuel cap (just in case the tank is slightly pressurised) as it will pump out the lines otherwise 2. Not necessary but you are right, if it is the factory pump it is at risk of failing after 25 years....Changing it is not hard but potentially not trivial as you have to make sure you have the right pickup/sock for the pump to suit the tank, need to make wiring connections (crimped butt connectors would be fine) and have to mount/adapt the new pump in the right place in the cradle. Not impossible but don't start the job if you aren't confident. Also, the plastic nut that holds that seal in place can be really hard to remove. If you don't have a fuel nut removal tool it generally requires a big screwdriver or similar to bash the ring around a few times before you can get it by hand. Also the fuel lines can be very sticky on the tank lid fittings, hose removal pliers can help or if not twist the hose on the fitting (eg with linesperson's pliers) to break the seal before you try and remove it. Finally, mark the feed and return hoses so you don't put them on backwards and seal them with an m8 bolt to stop crap getting into the lines while working. Add a little grease in the threads of the plastic lid when you go to do it back up as a gift to your future self, and make sure you put it on evenly/not cross threaded.  Having said all that, most likely the lid just needs to be either tightened or removed and put back on without being cross threaded...the seal itself is usually pretty good.
    • Another weekend and another project I have questions about.... I bought a fuel tank sender O ring to install on the car because I'm quite sus on what I've got now.  1. No "whooosh" sound when opening fuel cap 2. If I fill up full tank, there will be a small leak under the car and it comes from the top of the fuel tank, dripping along the side. Stops after a short while 3. Hot days = 50/50 chance to get high as a kite inside the cabin if the car was in the sun for too long This is what I bought: https://www.amayama.com/en/part/nissan/1734279900 My plan was to just replace the O ring but I've got some questions: 1. Does the whole fuel pump assembly need to come out for me to replace the O ring?         Or, could I unplug all the connectors and fuel lines at the top, take off the twisty part (17343) and put in the O ring from the top?  2. Is it a very common thing for everyone to just change the pump whenever doing this?        I see the Walbro 255 gets thrown in a lot but I've got no issues with my pump so far. When I did the tune, I asked the guy to check my fuel pressure and he said there were no issues too. But is it just a good idea to change to the 255 anyway as the old unit may have been in there for so long? The 255 seems to be a direct fit for GTT (I got no soldering iron)
    • Normal speedtek issues, bin it and go cdoo# or 8hp. So many issues with these gearsets, a mate went through 3 rebuilds and multiple parts with heat, bearing and vibration issues.
    • I wouldn't go near them, they are rubber seals for a reason. Just chuck new cam cover seals, half moons and the spacers for the screws every decade or two. I add a really thin layer of silicone too and it seems to hold together OK
