Hi guys,

I'm new to skyline. I've been reading this forum all day long and coming across the term "Engine Rebuild" so many times, particularly when someone wants to buy a skyline.

Sorry if a lot of ppl have already asked this before .. but erm what exactly is rebuilt/changed in the engine? And how much does it cost on an GTR R-32?

You can just tell me the link so I can go there and read it myself to save you guys time :) . but thanks for explaining. cheers.

Rebuild depends on

1. What parts being used

2. What failed at the time the motor let go

3. How much power your chasing, which helps determine point 1.

The "common" rebuild is crank collar/new crank, forged pistons, new gaskets/hoses all around, machining, mild head port, upgraded oil/water pumps etc.

Usually comes in somewhere around the 6-8k mark.

Then people change turbos, exhaust dumps, injectors, ECU's (another 6-8k) to make the most of thier newly built motor that can handle some added horsepower
