Starting Car With No Gearbox Or Clutch

Sorry this is in the wrong section but I need an answer quickly.

Can I start the car with out the gearbox and clutch attached? I need to eliminate something as the cause of my vibration. Just want to double check just in case it damages something?

Yeah I agree should be no worries, just don't stick ur fingers in there! What do you think it could be? Whats the symptoms? Speed or RPM related?

I overlooked one small thing, how am I going to start it??

Just hold ur starter motor there by hand!! LOL. Take ur clutch off, bolt ur gearbox up with a coupla bolts, throw ur starter motor on ur bell housing and franks ur aunty. Only ur engine spins.

You should be able to bolt the separator plate and starter in position - just need shorter bolts.

Or lots of washers to take up the slack.

Go old school and get a crank handle.
