Sorry Guys . If I knew it was going to cause all this I would've said nothing

I've always been interested in the local build up's and as you said anthony we are all skyline owners from newy.

I will probably never be able to tune as many cars as you have effie but i am trying to expand my knowledge of tuning as much as possible so I thought it might be cool to see this vehicle getting the numbers dialed in ..

I thought wrong

Hey i appreciate your interest Kyle...but where do we draw the line. Id like to see you and catch up but the less people at the workshop the better. Ive got dozen's of people/mates who want to come and watch but have told them id rather they don't come over. Come down when we race and pit with us etc..bit more excitement and more to see/watch.

in his defense though.. it does a get a bit how you doin when there are too many people hanging around.. its harder to tune a car when people are asking questions and stuff. It happens with me all the time as well. He is the owner of the car and its his choice.

I should be tuning my car on sunday or maybe tomorrow arvo.. you can come watch me if you like :)

yeah it is hard we had a $250,000 rod on the dyno with a 80k engine.... concentration, space and quiet when you need it are paramount to getting a good result. I prefer to keep bystanders on these type of jobs to a minimum (owner, tuner, engine dyno or engine builder only)

For general customers who are happy to have freinds watch thier car on the dyno... no dramas but now and again we do have closed tuning sessions also.

Had a few hours of tuning 1pm till 4pm got it all mapped up to 7000rpm. Took our time making sure all was perfect at each load cell tuned. Guilt-Toy did a stellar job tuning such a big car, his easy does it, cautious approach was excellent, no 'rip tear bust' here. We had Mark linked up to the laptop with his computer at his shop in QLD keeping an eye on things and helping out when it was needed.

We were having a little issue with oil leaking from the turbo drain flange not being tight or maybe not having a gasket fitted. As we were stepping up the RPM the leaking oil was getting worse so instead of having an oil fire we decided to pack it up.

Yeah it was a long day.. Lots of work was done to the car to prepare it for the Dyno. I was pretty fussy and was starting to annoy paul with some of the requests before i was ready to tune it. Everything got sorted out and we only had a few hours left to tune it.

This car is awesome. So tough its just amazing how good the engine is, you can tell that it was built by a true professional *cough paul Red R Racing cough* lol :domokun:

The gearbox took a bit to get used too, I connected Mark @ Godzilla Motorsport to have a look at the map and give it a once over before going over 4000rpm and we had a couple of things that needed to be changed, after Mark was happy with the setup it was smooth sailing all the way.. There was only a couple of videos taken because Paul was too busy making sure the turbo drain was not leaking, just as we were ready to start power runs it was decided to stop and fix the issue before taking the revs up anymore.

Here are some pics, and Videos

Thanks again Guilt-Toy...Both Mark and I were impressed with your work...well done.

How much does it sound like a jet in the vid's?

Power tuning next Saturday...cannot wait.

Thanks.. it has been great working with Mr Godzilla himself.. Was a good day :domokun:

Sounded even more like a jet in real life... I sooo want one of these turbo's!!

    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
    • @KinkstaahKrinkle paint the "silver" alloy, not the red filter frame Engine bay heat won't be a issue worth worrying about as the silver alloy blocks it off on 3 sides, as for the top, the bonnet seals most of it and the big OEM CAI intake snorkel is still fitted in its original position  I will head into Clark's Rubber when I have some time to grab some pinch weld to tidy up the alloy after I paint it As for performance, I honestly wasn't expecting any, the only reason I got it is because the intake noise sounds cool to my old ears when I'm feeding it the beans Sometimes it's the silly things you do in in life that gives the most fun, and I do love anything that makes cool car noises In other news: I survived 4 nights at sea with Jackie not throwing me over board, holidays are continuing now as we are currently chilling at the Beachcomber in Toukley, after taking the coast roads from Sydney in the MX5, top down all the way, Toukley is where I spent a good deal of my youth holidaying during the summer months, there's lots of reminiscing going on,  and lots of beaches and old houses to visit Next on the list is to head to Batemans Bay for a few days, but we will take the Commodore out to stretch its legs, then Commodore hasn't really moved for months
    • There’s probably people who’d like to do it and then when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets they’ll all disappear into the shadows
