i always though people had dog box's for clutchless shifting ? so no clutch air gap keeping you out of fourth

maybe also need some better quality hose clamps maybe wiggins clamps

Mark was constantly smashing the box when clutchless shifting...plenty of $$ overhauling it all the time replacing dog rings etc. So to keep the box in the car he has instructed me to clutch it...so i do...he's the crew chief and has plenty more experience with this stuff than i. He said maybe try 3rd>4th without the clutch but ill need to be more brutal with the stick not clutching it.

Hose clamps were the ones that came in the HKS kit...turfed them today and replaced them with the same ones Mark uses.

was speaking to JW today at work and said your new setup is very impressive. its good to see an 8sec pass is well within grasp  jambo is goin to be interesting thats for sure

JW...top fella...did he tell you that i snore harder than i drive...lol. Aparently i was still dozing hard this morning when he and k went to work.

Brad, ill see how this box goes. A Liberty is out of the question...an auto ?...maybe. I just want to race it for a while and enjoy it.

did it chip second???

9.5 is hooking

on the gravel out the back of the pits it did.

should have not tried 4th...if id left it in 3rd it may have gone quicker. Maybe the car has forgotten it has more than 3 gears...lol

Paul, curiosity has got the better of me, would I be on the right track if I said your Strange carbon brakes came 2nd hand via Adelaide? If so they were in my hands not more than a few days ago - as was the new set-up that replaced the Strange gear.

If I'm completely off track then feel free to forget I mentioned anything at all.

you couldn't be anymore on track. :P

Cool pic, but being 4wd would that suggest your suspension needs a lot of work? But then again your 60ft times are still good so perhaps you only need the 4wd after the 60ft to get the power down as the full high rom power hits????

Again cool pic, really need to get rid of that stripe though :D

We haven't even looked at suspension settings yet and i agree with your mode of thinking...a 4wd car 60's better when it sits a bit flatter. We picked up almost 2/10ths in the 60 with the low mounts getting the car to sit flat and just bob its ass a bit on launch. The coilovers have only been raised in ride height and still have the settings that we used at Superlap when we had them fitted to the circuit car.

The stripe is an advert. for Bodyform who did a bit of work on the car, Pete's a top guy and im happy to support his business and products. Although its a bit ricey its no worse than this one.. http://www.cnjmotorsport.com.au/images/gtr1.JPG

It also makes the car easily identifiable at the track as it stands out from all the other silver 32's

I think i may even wash it before Jambo...check out the thick coat of dust on it, especially the bonnet and roof.

Man you guys have well prepped tracks, very jealous indeed, well done on the pic mate, looks great, what 60s did you manage?

Edit, just saw you'd done 1.37, not to shabby at all :-)

Thanks Rob. Did a 1.38 the run before and blew the turbo outlet pipe off changing from 1st to 2nd...still ran 9.8

Mate it went 6.0 @ 114 to 1/2 track. What do you think it is capable of at that boost/power level?

Sounds really promising, great to hear!

Not taking the piss here (as you well know Paul) but are you using the launch control and anti-lag to full effect with the V88?

yeah we certainly are...the Vi-PEC anti-lag is killer.

Walk..you should have came over for a chat instead of being a 'hi-vis' face in the crowd. Mark has set the logger to automatically log from 3000rpm so we have some data there to look at.

maybe you need to up grade to motec data logging like an ACL as they have 1 gig memory as we did have a chat when you were loading the car !

really...you should have maybe introduced yourself...were you with Noel and Shane?

    • HKS trigger kit should be very easy to integrate with a Link. It's a 36-2 crank trigger. Hard part is finding the motivation to take off the timing belt and everything on the front of the engine to install it. You also need to cut out a hole in the oil pump housing so the sensor can read the trigger wheel. Changing out the cam sensor for a 24 tooth setup is probably good enough but as others have mentioned depending on what underlying assumptions are changed it becomes more of a problem. Reading the crank state off of the cam is an abstraction that works in the general case, but if you have an edge case it makes less and less sense. There is a GTX2860 gen 2 that can take a compact 5 bolt housing so it's direct bolt on but I'm not 100% sure of what's involved. Peak compressor efficiency drops off a bit on these turbos vs -5s, 77% vs 73% but you get way, way wider region of operation. The -5s have a really strange surge line in their compressor map that is all over the place. If you think the hot side on the -5s aren't open enough you can try the Tomei T550B turbos which a local tuner seems to be happy with:
