I delved into the unknown and was reading about it on NS.com, just passing on the info for others to know! To keep your eyes peeled, and to connect fist with head when approaching this person!

i prefer one of these :whistling: 4D will do the trick

ML_LED_group.jpg

did you try and follow it Flick and call the police @ the same time? may not of been appropriate also

yeah i never had a chance to turn around, by the time i did it wouldve been gone.. I saw a stagea coming towards me, was checking it out then saw the bald driver and as it went past me i saw the trade plates and what im pretty sure was a wing on the back, thats when i clicked.

If it wasnt so busy on melb street i probly wouldve turned and followed

Driving home just now i nearly had a heart attack, spotted the rear of a stagea in the distance with a trade plate hanging off the rear and did some weaving to catch up, wasnt til i got a lil closer i realised it was silver, still managed to catch up though to check the rear wing just incase, but it only had a short wing so was just coincedental with the trader plate! Still keeping my eyes peeled, hope the car turns up soon!

Thanks all!

I've just got back from my roadtrip to VIC (minus the car)

But had some good news on the drive home.

Holden Hill station called to advise that the car has been recovered and looks to be in reasonable condition.

The thiefs changed the rims and nicked the stereo and TV. but other than that sounds okay.

Last I heard they were going to search a property for these items.

Will update once I've heard more.

Thanks again to all that helped and kept a look out.

*flick*: Thanks for giving me a call as soon as you saw it. Sorry if i sounded in a bit of a hurry, but I was driving to Melbourne at the time.

Hey thats great it was recovered!!

One of the things I've always thought about stageas is that even if its stolen, they're so rare and easy to spot that the thieves would be caught before long. I'd never place too much confidence in this theory but it is interesting that everyone I told about this stagea being stolen said the same thing - that you cant hide in a stagea.

Even the fact that people on this forum sighted it within a couple days is something you couldn't dream of if you owned a falcodore...(not that this is any fault of these cars, just using the example).

The more unique the car, the more stupid someone has to be to steal it... :D

so glad you got it back - hopefully its not been thrashed too much. If the TV in it was the stock unit, then its probably no big deal anyway - the only annoying thing is having to wire up the alternative single DIN climate control unit and a new cd player. :P

WOOOT! Soooo glad u got her back in decent condition, better than her being smashed up or burnt out.

Thats ok bout the call, i was just so annoyed and freaked at the same time that i seen it go straight past me, yet i couldnt turn or move anywhere to follow.

Been keeping an eye on this thread waiting to hear anymore, so this is awesome news :D

Come to think of it, I did see a stagea on ward st in north adelaide (not far from melbourne st) on friday last week, driving the other way past me. The driver lifted his finger to say 'hi' when I gave the thumbs up (not thinking anything of it) and I noticed the car had a trade plate on the back and the driver was bald. Didn't see the front as it was in traffic but now thinking about it I reckon the guy would've been packing his pants wondering if I was waving because of the car or because I knew the owner. Hope they catch him and give him what he deserves.

    • I don’t really have any ideas how to set the timing on the CAS 😂, sounds like the top, sounds like it maybe misfiring as well as ticking,  got the box sorted 😌, must of been a air bubble on the clutch side
    • Use a 2' length of hose (that's 2 foot, not 2 inches) as a stethoscope to localise the source of the ticking. From cam covers? From exhaust or turbo manifold gasket? From injectors? From lower down in the engine? Etc. Use a timing light to set the timing. Put Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the box. It's not the very best thing for the box, but it will take a box that refuses to engage a gear with other oil, and make it engage a gear. I had to put it in when I installed the R33 box I have in my car. It would not select ANY gear when running. Smurf jizz made it work. That was >10 years ago and I still use it. I'm stuck with it now. Failing that - rebuild the box.
    • Well done Duncan. The fuel tank bulkhead lid is also in great condition (some of mine were stuffed). These are now out of production and good ones like that are becoming hard to come by.
    • Wow that's a steal, you've done well there.
