Hehe - last Friday. Most unbelievable thing I have done in a car. The place is unbelievably scary. Still - I was told that 9:12 on my 1st ever lap around there in a car I'd never driven before puts me into a category known as "insane". lol

I really want to go back again very badly.

A race prepped (well cage, good suspension and brakes) BMW E87 135i.

Decent engine and RWD coupled with a short wheel base made it very exciting to drive - until it started to piss down then it was just down right frightening. lol

Company I used - http://www.rent-racecar.de/gb/ - they were really great.

I've got a Dopod windows mobile phone so thought I'd share this find with you folks. It works on Windows mobile and also has a full windows version (I'm also working on integrating a laptop into the car for a full car-puter - but that is taking some time).

It is free and has capabilities to do ODBII logging too! I haven't tried it yet but looks good. Now, if I could just figure out how to get ODB out of my Autronic SM2!

Unfortunately I no longer have my Nokia so I can't use the race-chrono software. But I did a bit of searching around and I found another application that works on any phone with java capabilities. It's no where near as cool as race chrono but it is better than nothing. I did a quick test and it seems to work well as a lap timer but it just doesn't have the cool google earth / excel functions.

Just thought someone out there may be interested in a cheap lap timer.

found it on the IPRA forums. thought it might be handy for some people here, and we might get some feedback about how it well it works! see if its worth upgrading my old phone...

Hey, have you seen this one? RaceChrono

It does all kinds of stuff like lap times, quarter mile times, 0 - 100kph etc
