hmm .. interesting! I wouldnt get one personally just because the stagea is stock as a rock at the moment and more than likely going to stay that way.. and I have never had an overheating problem yet( granted its in the middle of winter )

but back to my point.. it will be interesting to see how these bonnets match the lines of the car ( I noticed on our S2 there is an area near where the bonnet is hinged that it meets with the lines on the rest of the car - sheesh.. reading that again makes NO sense.. least I know what I mean

oh and I am pretty sure they are defectable in W.A but dont quote me on it.

hmm i would suggest to do a Carbon Fiber ones no point in doing fiberglass. Venting it doesnt matter as long as it looks good. Probably with a ari scoop for the air intake? I would be interested in a CF ONLY.

A matter of interest as well. Probably have your guy to qoute us on the pricing for Fiberglass, wet Carbon Fiber and a dry carbon on a design that we agree om. I can upload the picture for that shows the air scoop if need.

Dale - I agree on the rearward facing vent comment.. but I was thinking more the material ( carbon fibre /. fibergass ) aspect that might be defectable.

Only if the vents face rearward. (engine / coolant system failure could project fluids etc onto the screen apparently)

I don't think so, I may be wrong (I am pretty sure that happened once) but due to the A9X Torana, and even the new turbo diesel puegot has fibreglass bonnet vents so they do comply with adr's I just think that you would have to be careful not to cut any braces or anything to install them.

I think its a great idea myself and I was looking at the same thing myself, anything that removes under bonnet heat can only be a good thing IMO

hay guys went and seen the bodykit guy today he will be starting in a few weeks. carbon fibre is illegal. with these bonnets u will get

a written letter that u can show the cops and u will not get fined for it they will all have id numbers on them and transport will be notified that u have an arftermarket vented bonnet when

u buy them.

will get a pic asap thanks guys

CF bonnet is illegal? hmm i dont know. Cos theres alot of people using CF bonnet and vented too. Im only interested in CF for a seiries 1.

Unfortunately, Yudi, the fact that there are quite a few people using them doesn't make them any more legal...

I would love one, but don't (and probably won't) have the funds to dedicate to this any time soon. Need to do a few other more important things to the car for now, then I'll focus on some minor cosmetic stuff.

the carbon bonnets are "illegal" as they do not provide any crumple zone support in victoria at least so i would assume that fibreglass would be the same?

just my 2 cents

I think there is some confusion in this thread over the fact that ( from what I understand) these bonnets are going to be almost entirely CF or Fiberglass. Its not a steel bonnet with a fiberglass/CF scoop or vent.

Yea I was under the same impression as oxford1327 in regards to the crumple zone etc.

I think its best that each purchaser check with their local authorities about the legalities of it

If you smack a pedestrian with one you'll litter their body with Carbon shards and they don't show up on X-Rays.

Or so i'm told.

    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
