Hi all,

I'm kind of a noob here. My name's Eugene, I bought an R32 GTST a few months ago.

paid $8500 for it. it had some body kit damage and is pretty much stock.

But yeah i love the car and skylines in general. the thing kicks out lovely :whistling:

Just wondering if anyone had any advice what i should mod on it first and also who's good to go to in canberra for imports.

some people tell me to change the stock turbo straight away cause they're shit

but i dunno, I figured it would be better to do the intercooler and exhaust first.

props for any help.

Theres definately a few things to do before replacing the turbo. Although most people would know more about that than me. I'd go for a bigger intercooler and exhaust first. Upping the boost with a electronic boost controller, or a manual one.

BTW welcome.

i would also recommend some sort of aftermarket engine management before changing the turbo

otherwise you are pretty much limited to exhaust, pod or good quality panel filter, intercooler and a tad more boost.

depends on what side of town you are on as to where to take the car.

ive dealt with trojan in mitchell, autotech in fyshwick and gas tune in tuggeranong and they all seem to do good work

once you have done the exhaust (go for a full system not just a cat back if anything they just make a lot of noise), the intercooler and gotten a boost controler talk to CEF11E. He should be able to retune your stock ECU for a reasonable price.

Having said that, the common turbo upgrade is the R33 turbo. I happen to have on I will sell cheap to get rid of it ;) Shameless I know

Firstly, welcome to the forums! I hope you have much fun and friendship on here!

1st thing I like to see done is brakes and supension work( including quality rubber). Power is no good if you can't keep it on the ground. Then the 'little things' that need neatening up like loose bodywork, blown bulbs, loose wiring etc; all the things Plod may look for a reason to make life difficult. THEN the fun starts. There's much info' and opinion on here:take it all on board, stir once, digest, and plan your course of attack. Have a firm end result you want to acheive (use, power, economy, 'feel' sound, look, degree of legality etc) and try to stick to it!

Enjoy!!

Get rid of the RB20 and transplant an RB25 inplace along with the R33 gearbox... Thats where the fun is :D

But if you dont want to do that (or dont know how) then go for some good tyres first, like Jayce said its not good having power if you cant get it to the ground, then put some decent brake pads in it and fluid aswell... And if the suspension isnt to good replace it too, there are some great kits that you can get through these forums, just have a look in the group buy and for sale sections.

As for rubber, either Frink or I can help you out there... GO Federal Tyres!

To get some more go, do the intercooler, pod filter and exhaust and have the ecu re-flashed and you'll be happy as a pig in sh!t... Check out Just Jap for intercooler and exhaust kits, they're good quality and inexpensive bolt on kits that you can install yourself.

Oh and Welcome to the club

Hey mate, welcome to SAU.

This place is pretty wicked. I'm a nube to the whole car scene, let alone the modification side of things! You'll find HEAPS of info and everything you need to know about your car and its mods inthe forums.

I'm currently in the process of digging up some info so I can get a bigger turbo. I'm so lost.. BUT, it's all in here somewhere!
