story goes, i had r34gtt rims on my car (17 x 7.5)

bought some 19 x 8.5 front 19x9.5 rear (35 and 30 profile accordingly)

i absolutely hate the handling and feel of the new wheels and to make it worse i lowered it 1.5" so its not sitting like a 4wd and now i cant drive it faster than 20km/h without it rubbing its nuts off

put the old springs back on so its drive-able, now im going to return the wheels so i got a few options and i need some advice from some people who have experience

option 1: get my r34 rims back on and leave them on

option 2: get some 18x8 all round

option 3: get some 18x8.5 and 18x 9.5 rears

question is, would it still be a crap ride (ie bumpy, car follows grooves in road etc) if i get even 8.5 and 9.5 inch wide rims even if they were 17s/18s

i think im leaning towards getting my old rims back and HOPEFULLY get a refund, but they might want me to exchange so id like to know before i go there and f**k up again

and i dont want no one saying ive put 19s/20's on without it scrubbing etc etc, i bought the car so i can drive it like its meant to, not to be worrying how fast im going around a bend incase it rubs (god damn impulse buys!)

If you were to run 17/18's instead of 19's, it would be a better ride. Smaller rims mean you'll have more air/volume in your tyres to absorb bumps etc.

How bad does it rub? And where does it rub? If you hate the ride that much, swap them for some 18's or even some 17's.

there are quite a few 34s I know who have 19s or 20s with no issues..although I don't see the practicality and you will definately sacrifice ride comfort and handling.

First things first, the "springs" u used, how low have you gone? (measure from center of wheel to guard)

secondly, What offsets are the wheels that are scrubbing?

Thirdly, what profile/width tyre are you running?

Personally I'd pick option 3. If you click my signature you will see all the 18" wheels I've had so far, their different widths and offsets. Currently running 18x8.5 +35; 18x9.5 +35. Only minimal rubbing on the front inner guards when going up my driveway on full lock. Oh also running 235/40 and 265/35 tyres front and rear respectively. IF your 19s are rubbing on the outer guard, consider running thinner width tyres front and rear.

Suspension choice also affects ride comfort. lowered springs with stock suspension is not advisable. There is a Bilstein GB that everyone highly recommends...I have chosen a set of Tein Super Streets which is a nice compromise between street and track use, whilst maintaining ride comfort.

Recommended ride height is around 340-350mm from center of wheel to guard..any lower will look hot but handle crap.

275 rear 245 front

they were lows sprigns so 1.5" lowetr than standard so it would have been 340-350mm center of wheel to guard

btw i have an r33 not r34 (have r34 gtt wheels tho)
