Radiator Fluid Inside Firewall

ive got a r32 gtst and i just recently noticed my car smelling like radiator fluid.

i checkd under the glove box near the firewall and found a some radiator fluid(very little of it)

imnot sure where its leaking from.

has anyone had this problem before?

yep, leaking heater core, or possibly the hoses going to the heater core. either way it wont get better, only get worse until one day it dumps all of your coolant into your car which will wreck half your carpet and stink the car out for a long, long time. unfortunately it's not easy to fix. removing the heater core means removing nearly all of the dash very time consuming if you do it yourself and very expensive if you take it somewhere.

It sounds like your heater core is stuffed or your hoses have come off. Summer's coming up so there's no need for the heater. Just unplug the hose that goes to your heater from the engine bay.

You can get a second hand heater core from your local wrecker, but you never know, it could be stuffed too.

The heater core is located at the back of the dash. You're going to need to take out the whole dash as far as I know.

oh ok. i might just take out that heater hose out first before i get it replaced.

where is that hose located in the engine bay?

sounds like you have no idea what your doing

get some one to help you or take it some where that knows what they are doing

last thing u want is to get an air lock in the cooling system and pop a head gasket

yea had a rethink about that lol. just going to grab a new heater core first.

I would definately buy a NEW core. there is so much time in swapping them over get a new one. Places like natrad, adrad etc will be able to give you a core of the right shape and size. from memory they are not expensive, maybe $100-$150.
