General Meeting - Tuesday 18 September

Recommended Posts

How much are one of those SAU polo shirts?

Bec could i grab one off you? Probably and XL or XXL? How's the fittings like?

Had already left work when you posted this last night.

Yes, you could have grabbed one at the meeting last night.

Come next month and grab one, or PM me if you want to work something out sooner.

Last night was one of the best presentations we've ever had a general meeting. Massive thanks to Snowy for giving us an insight into Dutton and what's involved in being a serious competitor for Champion honours. Thanks to Chris for making up such a cool Powerpoint presentation too which complemented Snowy's speech beautifully.

Yeah, for those who missed last night's meeting you really missed out.

Snowballs speech about the club, Dutton and he goals was great, Scotsman's powerpoint was great, Gadget's videos were tops, and Mav's pre meet photo show was spot on.

Thanks Guys!

P1=No show.

Unfortunately the general attendance on the night was low, which was a pity as they missed a great presentation from Snowman regarding the Dutton and his motivations for entering it every year.

I think its strange that there was 60 or so Skyline (non member) owners that went on the Unofficial GOR cruise but not one turning up at the open meeting Tue night!!

Why would that be, when they all are aware of SAU-VIC and the meetings??

Cant be the cost! - Must be something making them reluctant to come along.

Its free to come to a meeting and we dont force people to join on the night or harass them to pay up.

Maybe they are just forgetful like me.....

I would love to attend these meetings as it sounds rather informative and a layed back atmosphere. But getting up at the un-holy hour of 3:30AM for work would mean i get fark all sleep Tue night

Well since YOU don't want to do it Snowy :D Chris from Centreline is coming next month to have a chat about all things suspension and handling and the like.. so you ALL better come along! :O

Chris Muscat:

1990 Club Car Champion.

1st in Class 1995 Bathurst 12hr.

1st team Winton 24hr 1992.

2002 Victorian Sports Sedan Champion.

    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
    • February update 🙂 We managed to get the very last 1/18th "Extra Scale" cars stock available from bookstores in Kyoto. These are actually the last ones and will not be restocked again! Hachette Collections Japan have not decided on a release date for these or other models in the series, so for the time being these are all there are available new.  These are showing up on Yahoo auctions at inflated prices already (especially the Celica and NSX) so get yours now at a very reasonable price before they disappear!
