How To Obtain De-reg Papers From Japan

Just bought a car and need the de-reg papers if they exist from Japan. Car is already here since 2003.

Is there somebody I can contact to do it from here or can I just turn up and get them in Japan if I go to the right place.

Any help appriciated.

The de-reg papers are needed by the exporter when the car leaves Japan, they should be sent to you once the car is on the way however many exporters will just keep them on file in Japan unless you specifically request them. If you need them now then contact the agent you purchased the car through and see if they still have them. If they have been lost or misplaced then you will NOT be able to get a replacement copy.

For those with queries on de-reg papers. I got the papers as the car was brought in under the old system so the car is now complied.

Does the de-reg paper actually supposed to be sent direct to your customs broker and you receive a copy?
