I have no aftermarket ECU management in my R33. I'm running 11-12psi on a stock turbo and the air/fuel mixture runs rich at these levels because the computer isn't programmed for these levels. I was told i need ECU mods (like fuel cut defender) but i wanted something with more adjustablity without going all-out on an expensive Power FC. I want something that will be good for a future mod plan up to 220rwkW.

Any suggestions???

Did a search, SAFCII and Greddy E-Manage look very good, and similar.

Do either have any advantages over the other?

So i can do this piggyback tune to take my stock turbo up to 1 BAR and pump the correct amount of fuel in. That's how it works right?

emanage with the injector and ignition harness is far better than te safc. but you do need the support tool or E01 to reap the benifits. SAFCII can be tunned from the unit but is only a afm signal bender. emanage does afm signal bending, injector duty cycle and ignition timing.

SAFCII is about 8 wires

emanage is about 30 wires (with all harnesses)

SAFCII can be picked up for about half the price of an emanage with all harnesses and support tool.

basicly the emanage is the next step up from a SAFCII

Not sure what the harnesses are for the e-manage. But it sounds like a better long-term alternative.

What if i want two boost/power setting, like at 9psi for everyday, then flick a switch and jump to a 12psi remap???

Will the SAFCII & e-manage handle this? Cause i have a man. boost controller...will i need some kind of EBC upgrade, or an piggyback ECU & EBC all-in-one unit??? And can i reset the max. factory speed limit with a piggyback???

SAFCII can have two maps. just have to swap them over in the settings.

emanage you will have to have two maps saved on a laptop and plug the cable in a load the new one on to swap it over. (not a quick way)

manual boost controller will be ok, you'll just have to wind it up and check your gauges. EBC could be easier if you don't have to start mucking around with the gain settings and stuff.

i don't know that you can get a piggyback and EBC all in one. you can buy the greddy profec E01 (i think thats what its called) and use it with the emanage blue

and no, you cand remove factory speed cut with the SAFCII or emanage.

without getting the additional injector and ignition wiring harnesses for the emanage you might as well get the safcII.

also and most importantly make sure you know someone that can tune them.

Maybe with all the messing around it mite be better just to fork out $1000+ for an FC...

I don't know much about em, but far as i know it replaces the stock ECU and it can control EVERYTHING the car does.

Do they stuff up? Should i go a 2nd hand one???

I am selling my WOLF3d plug and play unit for a RB20/25.

Will plug straight into your loom, and can be tuned via hand controller.

Very similar to a PFC except it doesn't use a air flow meter, uses a MAP sensor.

Let me know if your keen, I will do you a good price. Cheaper than any PFC you will find for sale anyways.

re-map

dude, whateva u do dont go for a power fc. that technology is old and outdated.

if u go the emanage ultimate, it can be continously updated, has more features than the pfc, and it looks like it is the new PFC.

the fact is the pfc is getting older and more expensive.=go the EMU

Hi ,

Read this page http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=154016

I personally think youd have to be mad to buy a pfc for $1500 when you could have the ultimate for less that $900.

I believe the ultimate will eliminate your 180 kph limit, and has the option for a switch between 2 maps, ie race and street.

im about to get mine installed, so if u can wait a week or so ill post up some results then.

So about $900 new for the ultimate, and how much for installation and tune?

Thanks,

Abu

I suppose that will determined by the workshop doing the install and tune. for the r33 being a plug and play, i cant see it costing more that $500 all up.

However this is only a guess.

I am getting my ultimate hard wired into my 34gtt (take longer than plug and play) and tuned,

plus tomei pump installed, plus injectors installed, fuel reg and z32 afm for around $1100.

Oh yep fair enough.

Plug and play units seemed to still cost around the $500 mark for initial tune and installation (plugging it in..).

As far as I know they don't come programmed with a base map hey, so the tuner has to practically start from scratch?

Thanks for the info, I will do some research.
