Space saver tyre + HICAS = Hard to drive

Recommended Posts

Guest INASNT

i had a flat last night, big piece of metal stuck in the rear tyre!

lucky i got home before it was full flat!

Put the saver on and, damn the tyre on that is tiny!

My other back tyre is a 17 inch 255 and the space saver a 16 inch 125 (max), and the HICAS doesent like the different rolling diameter and different tyre width! coming out of a corner the HICAS has a heartattack and trys to over correct the rear end wayyy to much. I can come out of a corner and drive in a straight line with the steering wheel at half lock sideways until i take my foot off the throttle and correct it my self!!

Very difficult to drive!!

I just don't believe it

INASNT, you obviously only have 2 driving styles - flat out and flatter out.

FFS, have a bit of common sense, the space-saver spare is NOT a performance tyre, and the car should not be driven as such.

When I had mine on once (on the front), the ABS and HICAS were both disabled (warning lights on), probably because the ABS picked up the difference in rotational speed between the spare and the normal tyre.

well i went to the tyre shop today, and they dont know where i can get that same tyre from in australia!

its a Nankang 255 4017!

i will have to go the importer and c if they have any spare as they r the ones that put them on the car when i bought em!

and i had to the drive the car to get to work and i dont drive flat and flatout blind_elk!!
