Al
Damn, that's farken crap! If the person tried to increase the limit over the counter AND FAILED, why didn't they confiscate the card. I'm with the CBA too Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/185031-know-anyone-that-works-at-the-cba/page/2/#findComment-3349935 Share on other sites

R31Nismoid
Damn, that's farken crap!If the person tried to increase the limit over the counter AND FAILED, why didn't they confiscate the card. I'm with the CBA too I think they increased the limit over the phone from what i can gather. Any joe could do that really, same as activating a card. You just need a few minor details that the kent would have stolen from my mailbox no doubt. Whoever tried to change the PIN in person, i know that the PIN changed failed as it was noted in my "history" But it still fails to explain how they got access to the account which is the main issue. I couldnt give a flying f*ck if someone tried all this and failed and that was that. Proves a system works. Its more that they failed on the PIN change... and STILL got in somehow without raising any alarms... i mean farken hell. Someone trying to change a PIN over the counter without ANY photo ID... after seeing the log the operator/teller should have seen the other attempts to change my account details etc... and nothing. Just the BS thats gotta go on beforehand really. I did more than shit myself lemme tell you... My mind was running wild... like... "fark maybe i was drugged and dont remember?" "Did i sleep walk or something random?" "How drunk was i the other day?" "Its possible im really forgetful!" etc etc lol. My mind is creative sometimes in its own retarded way at the best of times, but it was in total retarded overdrive for a while Then when the info of the location of the ATM's came through i was like... hmm... couldnt see myself walking there. Couldnt have gotten there in my sleep Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/185031-know-anyone-that-works-at-the-cba/page/2/#findComment-3349960 Share on other sites

Meek34
What a bummer. It makes me think it may possibly be an inside job, anyone that works at CBA I am sure would have access to sensitive information that would be required to change the withdrawal amount, they may know how to pull a prank like this off. Just funny how they were able to withdraw funds without changing the pin, unless they knew what it was. What if they stole the new card & pin before it was posted. Just another angle to look at I guess, good luck in retrieving the funds. funkymonkey
don't ATM's take photos? and yeah, how do you access the card without a pin? I'm sure as shit everytime I got a new card they sent you a new PIN separately a couple of days apart. R31Nismoid
They must have attained my pin, or changed it. The case log says that this person "couldnt"... but that doesnt mean it didnt happen. Hence i think my mail has been raided... worst thing is i didnt tell anyone i was getting a new card. So its either an insider job, or someone raided the mail and got VERY lucky. There is no way they got it without a PIN though, so they found it out somehow as i certainly didnt give it to anyone Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/185031-know-anyone-that-works-at-the-cba/page/2/#findComment-3350175 Share on other sites
saff_cossie
Sorry to hear mate, thats pathetic. You always hear about it on the Internet and TV but never think it can happen so close to home. For what it's worth, I was with the CBA for about 3 years but due to several things I wouldnt class as professional, I switched to the ANZ who have been superb and are even open Saturday mornings too in some places which is a huge help. Hope you get it sorted mate. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/185031-know-anyone-that-works-at-the-cba/page/2/#findComment-3350317 Share on other sites

sky^rkt
that sucks ash, i had the exact same thing happen to me last year when i was with the commonwealth bank. new card, same pin, they activated it and went in and took money out without any photo id. they even make their own signature up and the teller didnt even check. shows how good their security was. in that mail raid i had a fine stolen which i had to go to court about and cost me a bundle and other private crap. i got lucky because the police caught the guy because he was on the train with no ticket and found him with my card and cash, i didnt get it all back but some. i got called down to the cop shop and they wouldnt even let me look at the guy due to privacy shit. they can kiss my ass he stole my shit i wanna either option 1: kick the shit outa him till hes in a pool of blood option 2 :see him ad take his details for future refference Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/185031-know-anyone-that-works-at-the-cba/page/2/#findComment-3350348 Share on other sites
Bass Junky
I've had replacement/new cards arrive in the envelope and the pin number envelope arrive on the same day, in the same mail delivery. Now that's farked and I can see how easily that could have happened to you Ash. I've had both envelopes arrive together on multiple occasions. I wish you the best of luck getting your cash back. and if you need cash for your holiday, you could just sell your new engine to me.... Cheap Cheap? khunjeng
it certainly happens... Sometimes the PIN mail comes first by about a week, but if ur on the look out its not that hard. In the end the banks were pretty good with fraud, I had a case looked at and they gave me all the money back after their 3-4 week investigation.... Good luck ash.. Im thinking of pissing off the ATM card all together, and just going to over the counter stuff. I used to do it that way until about 4 years ago for the most part. Hardly used the ATM...
