Hi,

My R33 GTR is currently in compliance and has two modifications that cannot be identified.

One modification, mod1, compliance have advised * it will have to come off as it joins one of the oil galleries. *

Mod2 is unknown but possibly weight saving...

On another note, I have been advised the A-M steel brake hoses must be changed to DOT marked hoses in Victoria, is this correct? I thought that people buy steel brake hoses all the time..

Regards,

Gareth

Can't tell what the problem is with "2". Wouldn't have thought an oli filter relocate / oil cooler ("1") would be any sort of problem.

The A-M steel hoses are probably not ADR-approved. Replace them with Maltech braided hoses (ADR-approved).

Yes, it clicked a while after I posted that braided hoses must be ADR approved. I will ask compliance how much bradied hoses will cost, and if its worth doing...

Thanks a lot for the help!

if mod 1 has to come off.....just remove the fitting, put an oil filter on there instead and change it back as soon as you get it back.

#2 I can't see properly. Is it an adjustable castor rod? if so easy to swap off temporarily as well

surely the workshop could have given you a bette description

$195 in the group buy!

Yes, I am checking with the workshop if they are ok to swap the Japanese braided lines for ADR approved ones if I deliver them to the workshop.

See ya,

Gareth

Sorry to drag this back up but its just curiosity if someone has a few minutes.

The first mod appears to be an oil filter relocation kit, but the oil filter is located under the drivers side plenum, tucked away so its basically inaccessible and we couldn't get it off for the oil change.

There appeared to be no room to insert a tool there AND there was some bracket right underneath the oil filter, not sure what if it was attached to the filter or not.

The filter looks different to the usual one, its black and has some writing starting with "AFL..." and some words underneath that I can't read, it also looks smaller than the stock filter but I'm not sure about that yet.

I haven't seen any oil cooler unless its hidden somewhere.

Is having the filter in that position where it is always put on a GTR? Under the drivers side (plenum?) and tucked away so deep you cannot see it from above unless you look at it from either the front or side of the car?

You can see it from underneath (just) but can't reach it :glare:

Gareth
