So i am now king of spins :)

Oh well.

Who went out from here besides Richo and I and flick and her bf.

I dont no alot of u SAU guys.

I went out and loved it. But poped a cooler pipe off in the last session and that was due to my boost controller having a shit connectiong with one of the return vac lines.

Oh well.

I would ask of pics of me but i would assume they would all be of me spinning. HAHAHAHA

I wish i could of seen richo going at it again. But u were in the first group and i was working on my car while you were out.

Nice to finally meet you Flick. HAHAHHA its only been how long.

Lots of problems last night for me, from constant delams after only 1-2 soft laps to snapping a rear subframe connection.

Not fun having to drive home with 10deg camber and 10deg toe out on one wheel :)

But not as bad as Luke maroon 31 blowing the 25 box, hope you made it home ok dude.

Come say hello next time Brenton, it'd be nice to out a face to the name.

Cheers

Ric

^^^Gotta love when that happens

If the bracket's just been ripped off the subframe cleanly, get it welded back on, if not, new subframe, not the worst to do. Make sure you reinforce the welds when you do it though, the stock welds are piss poor.

How much power did you end up pulling anyway?

haven't had a chance to have a proper look, but it looks that its just the bracket (cross fingers) Ill make sure I get a really strong weld there, and Ill do the same on the other side while Im at it just in case.

it put 198rwkw, but its way too rich, it definitely needs a tune, but we didn't have enough time to do it yesterday, Jeff was flat out. I should see around the 215 mark taking some fuel out of the mixture, we'll see.

Mind you, it felt a bit laggy compared to the 25 turbo, hopefully that can be fixed a little with the tune.

hopefully not a busted box rico, will have it checked out this week, mounted the ripple strip a little hard trying to get out of someones way after spinning and bottomed sumtin out, so hopefully itd judt that something has been knocked out of whack. See wat happens.

HAd a great night up untill then, except for tyres dying after a couple of laps. need to get rich so i can take new pairs out for pracs lol.

Brenton, nice to meet u too finally! Only saw a few of your runs, yes u spun but hey its only your second time out on track? All part of learning right ;)

Was good to see you out there though! Well done.

Richo, awesome stuff again, saw a few of your runs and they were pretty good!

Unfortunately i left both my cameras at home so no footage this prac. Spent most of the night trying to keep warm more than concentrate on the drifting.

Ill be out there one day

Yes thanks mate, saw you there at TT with the SAU top, I want one of those, looks good

Hey flick, you thinking in taking yours to the track? you should.. your car is asking for some proper thrashing

Hey, i was out there in the White Cefiro with the vented front guards and CA18 silvia rear stockies, had a great time out there.

All in all i was pretty crappy but i think i improved towards the end, was the frist time i have have ever "drifted" my ceff in the 3 years i have owned it so i think it was about time i gave it a go. I might have to get out there more often now, was too much fun to never go out there again.

Too bad about your gear box troubles Luke when i actually got the chance to spectate you were doing really well and making it look easy...

Brenton i saw in the Cefiro's part on this forum you were saying that your Crank angle sensor might be giving you trouble, i have some spare CAS's you can borrow or buy for cheap if it fixes the problem, i also have the loom and the two knock sensors from a RB20 spare if you want to borrow them too. By the way i was behind you on a couple of runs and you were really going hard, well done

Yeh i was out there, Went out during the day as we had a grip prac day! stayed out for about an hour or 2 after! Was parked next to Simons shed!

You were getting better Brenton, the first session i saw you we were down near the Esses and you looped a few times but were getting better! Good work!

Richo had the "i don't give f#%k about my car" slide going on and looked good! Some good entry speed going on there, just noticed you would run a little wide on turn 1!!

Those Monkeys know how to slide hey???

And that Viva 32/33/34 looked like POO!! wasn't keen at all! especailly when you put the look of Georges 34 next to it!!

Yes mate still trying to get that bloody turn 1-2 right :P try to hit the scandos always at the same spots but sometimes I f**ck up. its all about consistency, Ill get there one day.

The Viva is indeed a weird looking car, is starting to grow on me though, and I think someone else is driving it now, not sure.

I can't remember seeing you scando(ing) the start finnish straight, If you were id say not to do it! If you slide out of the esses then grip up, power down to the canteen and switch back there, bum drag it to the apex and power out! it seemed to work for alot of others! GT George seems to like to do too much of a smoke show down the start finnish straight, and when he gets to turn 1 he has to get on the brakes, seems his switch backs are too long or something!

All in all dude you had some good pace on!!!

cheers ceffie, hopefully nothing major with the gearbox, shame i didnt get to see any of your runs, have to check you out next time, assuming you will be coming out again yeh?

the viva 324 has been driven by adam kipling as of late, he told me it still got a long way to go, the car originally was a gts-4 and all the running gear is still up front so is still a very heavy car to slide. Shame about the engine if it did seize up, was one sweet sounding engine when it was in mid slide.

Wow thanks for the kind words guys.

I wasnt going hard. Well i didnt think i was. Wow i cant wait to jump into a better performing car and see how i go in that.

As all i have is a fmic, boost controller, coilovers and a shimmed diff.

The VIVA R334 died. yes the engine did sieze.

And yes its Adam Kipo driving it when its sidways and the owner when its slowly getting sideways.

No disrespect to the owner either.

Ceffy: I have a spare CAS at home. But will keep u in mind if its the knock sensors. I hope its not.

Cant wait for VG30 and a 2way.

And i might also have some sponsorship too.

Gotta keep it on the hush hush untill i start performing better.

For all reading, it was my first Practice since drift shool. And well that wasnt that special. So im counting Sat nights drift prac as my first real practice.

Thanks again.

And keep up the good work SAU drifters.

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
