I found out a while ago that there is now a gps unit that will inform you of known radar speed trap locations, it prewarns you while you drive along.

Anyway it seems that this type of info is not "classified" material and in the interest of all my tiny points left, I thought we could start posting our own handy little guide for those less endowed like me.

I will wait till the mods clear it and then I intend to have a big map broken into smaller ones and then referenced of SEQ to start, I hope to have a normal street map, a google image and a photo on each location.

Whatdoyarekonmods??

Ok!!

cheapest and easiest way to stay on top of the old flash for cash and the odd evil knievel is to get yourself onto a CB radio and talk to the truck drivers they are the best source of info on highway and main road based traps, however they wont know your local streets which you shouldn't be speeding on anyway i'm sure those on here with little kiddies will agree.

are yo referring to the "road angel" GPS unit? i believe that this is the legal GPS unit listing all the known fixed camera locatons.. also many tomtom units have fixed camera locations installed, these filed can be downloaded from the www

there's nothing illegal with listing known fixed camera locations

however, i don't know of any camera other than red light cameras

Terry,

You can download POI's (Point of Interest) for TomTom. They range from Fixed Red Light Cameras to Brothels.

You can then have your TomTom play a sound of your chosing whenever you come within a chosen range of said POI.

eg. I have a siren playing whenever I am within 500 metres of a police station so I know to make sure my exhaust noise it at a minimum.

If you get yourself a Nokia N-Series mobile phone you can have all these great benefits too.

Wow, haven't seen the token "if you don't speed you wont have a problem" post yet.. surprising.

I'm lucky, I don't have to go past any regularly used radar locations on the way to/from work. Not that it would really be a problem if I did.

The one on boardman road (in Redcliffe) that tucks itself behind the truck that's always parked there, near the kippa-ring shops, sneaky bastard.

I saw it flash one night as I was driving past, scared me as I definately wasn't doing more than 60, till I noticed the guy travelling beside me (who started behind me at the lights) was pulling ahead of me. Sucks to be you.

most of the ones I know are listed.

out west: cunningham hwy at redbank plains rd, between swanbank and ripley exits in median , oz fuel exit , before fuel station after amberly on the way out.

north:

nundah tunnel either end, sandgate rd after hamilton rd(northbound), toombul rd interchange. gympie rd kedron outisde caravan place (usually tucked BETWEEN the 4wds!)

between anzac ave and boundary rd M1 burpengary.

carseldine in the 80zone coming in off the freeway.

theres more of them I see daily in my travels but those are teh ones I remember.

one interesting one I found last night:

cunningham hwy inbound after redbank plains exit going up hill. there is a information sign that tells you your speed over 100kmh and tells you the demerit points you will lose and the fine... I hit it at 110kmh ..

He is there intermittently Chris, They have about 5 spots along that stretch that lend themselves to their stealth tactics.
