lots of cars going in the wrong direction including our car but no damage done

the throttle got stuck open on the GT40s car causing Paul to go careering into the kitty litter at the end of the straight at 180 clicks! Paul and car are ok though. but his throttle problems continued which meant he could only manage a best time of 60 something.

our car managed a 58.06 on a warm QR day, 1st in class and 4th overall out of 110 or so cars. also due to the GTs problems that gives our car a points boost and we are now tied for the lead in the series this year with 2 rounds to go.

will probably get some slicks organised for the fronts before the next one to try and pick up some more time.

Unfortunately i missed out saturday arvo due to blown turbo from the practice that morning. But my first time on the sprint track at topgear on sunday and my best time was a 56.4 which isnt too bad. Need more experience on that track, its tricky with our car.

dude... that's f**king quick. about 1 second off giant's time from memory? and definitely leading the local gtr/evo times.

p.s. - what's topgear?

yes thats bloody quick!!

Topgear is the next step up from doing the saturday sprints, they usually run on the sunday following.

PS no matter what I do I cant get that damned bug off my screen. arrgh!

yeh eugene your bug is annoying!

Well im about 2 seconds off the pace if i wanna win the next championship round in two weekends time. I reckon i have a second in me by getting my lines right and pushing it harder, but another second....that will be hard to achieve.

Giants car is quick and well respected, but there are quicker cars out there just not as popular or well known.

and only the rear wheels driving the car.

Mark and russell would do even faster times if they were on full slicks. But the point is with only two wheel drive its hard to compete with a very well setup gtr whilst on semis. I know, already tried it.

Lately weve been running around on hoosier semi's and those times were done on r6's.

It would seem that if you had two evenly powered and evenly weighted cars the 4 wheel drive one would be quicker everytime. The difference is that of running full slicks to semi's between the two, or so it has seemed over the last year or two.

what's with the attitude? I just pointed out that the "quicker cars" in your comparison were on full racing slicks against Giant on semis. There's nothing to argue about.

But Giant has a Skyline, that alone should negate any slick tyre in existance according to some lol. Anyway, many people say that the current semi slick tyres are just as good as a full slick anyway. I wonder how much slower a V8 Supercar would be on dunlop semi's rather then the full slicks they use... And a Semi slick doesnt mean its halfway between a road tyre and a race tyre anyway. Just means its a race tyre with DOT approval and some grooves really.

Anyway, pink car #90 might be getting joined by pink car #900 soon :D
