I know this is an old thread, but just in case you are still having these issues. Check your knock sensor. Run a ECU diagnostic first and see what it says. My knock sensor was very very dirty and I had the same prob as you, its been cleaned and runs strong the whole way to red line.

where abouts is the knock sensor and how do you clean it?

its on the intake side of the block. there are two of them - 1 is betweent the 1st-2nd cylinder and the other is between the 5th-6th cylinder. make sure they are on properly and i have no idea how to clean them. sorry

ive got a mate who has this exact same problem and he dirves a gts4 as well, hes spent 1200 bucks on a mechanic to try find and fix the prob which he said did absolutely nothing

have u got it fixed and if so what did it end up being, im sure my mate would be interested to know.
