Help With This Part?!

this may be a very stupid question, but can anyone tell me what this is?? its on my R32 GTS-t to the right of the centre console of dash, some sort of cylinder/control of something, brakes or clutch?? help me out please...

Thats an APEXi ECV (exhaust control valve).

Its hooked up to a valve on your exhaust which opens and closes and acts as a silencer.

What your looking at is the lever to activate/deactivate the silencer, a cable runs from that lever to the valve.

Push the button and pull it, and it should make your exhaust quiet.

Yeah it looks like the control to control your exhaust valve.

How much do they go for?

WOW thanks guys, felt like an idiot haha, it all makes sense now! It came with the car when i imported it (im in Ireland), so thanks for clearing that up SAU guys, appreciated!
