i went to a public weigh bridge and had my car weighed; 1380kg.

before i had any mods to show increased power, i kept the printout in my glovebox but the cops don't want a bar of it.

even though at the time it was technically "underpowered" to the power to weight law, they couldn't care less.

i even went and spoke to several police at their stations. they all said something along the lines of there being some place which keeps all the technical data of all cars, and because the 1 car they used the data from was overpowered, it overrules all the same model.

this countries laws suck!

It goes by factory weight.

Not something you printed out.

Problem is that their factory weight on their system is generalized for each year/series of the model of the car and its basically guilty until proven innocent.

I spent 30mins arguing with Pettet that series 2 r32 is legal but as i had no proof his word over-ruled mine.

Although dmr's measured weight was with petrol, engine oil, water etc it is still something to contest a police officer with if he doubts the legality of the car.

I wonder if Nissan Australia could provide factory weight specifications for r32's...
