It's expected to have a proper FR transaxel with driveshafts to the front wheels. The electric motors for the front wheels (e-4WD) and the motor assisted turbos were investigated, but were dropped because of cost and complexity. If the new GT-R were to have a (higher) price tag closer to Porsche's 911 turbo we might've seen these features. The car will be incredible anyway.
