Just replace the stereo/head unit = easiest option.

My cd player worked at first but eventually it ate my cd and wouldn't play it and wouldn't spit it out either.

I got an aftermarket head unit installed, and then I had to take the stock unit apart to retrieve my cd.

Any audio installer can do the install - its an easy job (according to autobarn who fitted mine - didn't have any trouble).

I did give them a printed copy of the instructions for a V35 ipod/stereo install (very similar to M35 dash) but not sure if they used it.

$80 & 45 mins for the install. very happy :)

You'll get better radio reception and better sound in general from an aftermarket head unit.

And they all have aux input nowadays, but some also have ipod compatibility so either way you can have the cd player AND the ipod, now thats having cake and eating it too.

Not an option for us AR-X and also the RX owners... In-dash 6 disc changer.... Needs some serious aftermarket panels to get that audio out and replace with a DIN/ISO standard unit that fits the RS....

Just get an iPod and a PA11-NIS.

Easy to install and works beautifully :)

Hi all,

Just bought an M35 (250t RS Four V) from my girlfriend's brother (I'm Aussie, he's Japanese, I'm in Japan for the next 2 weeks).

Been enquiring about importing it into Aus through RAWS. Under RAWS guidelines it is legal for a registered dealer to import certain M35s with a production date from October 2001. Girlfriend's brother says this one was built in October 2000... and i'm looking at paperwork that says the same thing. RAWS importer I was talking to never heard of an M35 built before 2001. I've googled production dates, and 5 different sites say production of the M35 was from 2001 to 2007.

Are the paperwork and brother mistaken and it's actually a 2001?

Anyone ever heard of a M35 built in 2000?

Will be great if it turns out to be a 2001 because I can't import (or get compliance) if it is 2000.

Thanks for any help.

Something not right there. M35's were definitely not built before mid 2001. Other evidence of this is that a lot of the new bits in the M35 didn't show up in most Nissans until 2002 or late 2001 (VQ Engine, 5speed auto, Front Midship Platform, different styling, new dash layout etc). Also the series 2 stagea was still being built up intil sometime mid 2001 so it seems very unlikely they would have had 2 different models in production at the same time.

Does anyone have a part # for the plastic guard that protects the front axle and the hardware affixed to it?

Its the one after the big one that protects the bottom of the motor etc.

I had a major bottom out in Windsor not long after I got the car and the plastic protector is in pretty bad shape, thinking about getting it replaced when it get's serviced.

NM35 and HM35's began rolling off the production line in mid 2001.

If you give us the VIN, we can look it up in FAST for you to find the build date.

Yeah, mine went on the way back home after picking it up from the storage warehouse.

That was 2 years ago and I haven't yet replaced it.

Having said that, the part number you are after is 75881-AQ060

I recently replaced my 6 stack in dash cd player from my 25ot rs four with a dvd/sat nav eclipse unit from frankies auto electrics. Speak to Chris Rogers about the double din fascia and new a/c control buttons. Fits and looks sweet.

Another possible way to check build dates, that i have used on import motorbikes, hopefully same for cars is to check brake and fuel lines etc. By Law in japan they have to put month/year on brake and fuel lines as they have to be replaced every three of five years or whatever, thats why we get them cheap because of the prohibitive cost of doing all that work. Worth a look. Was quite commen on bike to find year xx bike had actually been built 6-9 months earlier etc....
