Can some1 help me out.

I am in the process of selling my car and was looking to upgrade to a 34 gtr. Having stumbled across the M35 I am seriously thinking of getting one of these instead. But upon reading through the threads ( not all of them as its' too long) am I correct in assuming these cars aren't easy to modify and tune for some big numbers??Because those 3.5 litre stags are screaming out for a nice twin turbo kit to hang off it.

Why this over a GTR?

M35 is a wagon and it's a more modern car loaded with some nice features. 3.5 ltr with a twin turbo kit on top of the Attesa AWD really turns me on as well.

The auto is a shame though.

Any input would be appreciated.

There are more and more mods for the VQ25DET M35 every day. we are working through things. trying things, and using japanese parts.

yes the VQ35DE has more parts available because that motor has come in every mid and large size nissan for a while now. the VQ25DET only came in the M35 stagea, so we are a little behind on the mods.

that said, if you want big numbers, youre going to have to spend the money anyway, so it doesnt matter what engine is in it

Anything is possible, you could go a bolt on TT kit for the VQ35 and have around 240awkw or you could go with a full Cosworth built engine, bored out to 4.1L with a couple of GT35's.

Not much has been done over here in a 3.5L Stagea, probably due to how recently they have become available.

Tuning is possible with ECU re-flashes from Japan... or you could just plug in an HKS Fcon.

Can't help but wonder how you came to tossing up between a 3.5L Stagea and a R34 GTR. The only way you could have been further apart in your choice of import is if you were looking at an Elgrande instead!

If you want a new "every day for everything" type car, get the Stagea, but if you want a toy get the GTR.

Agreed with Iamhe77. If your stepping up from a R33 GT-R, looking at a R34, the M35 is a bit of an odd ball!

As far as modification goes, pretty much anything that you can strap (enginewise) to a Infinity G35x, V35 sedan, or Z33 will either fit, or require a little bit of modification to suit. There are twin turbo kits out of the states for about 7k atm, suit stock motor, but if you want GT-R numbers your up for a rebuild with forged internals. Frankly, I don't know how much power the PNM35 AWD system will take, because I don't think anyone has tried it! You'd have to look at big hp G35x's in the States for a lead. The Yanks have done heaps more for the VQ35de than the Japs, thats because of the G35 coupe and sedan. Parts from there are inexpensive, and sometimes an outright bargain at the current exchange rate (almost 1:1). You can make over 1000hp, if you have the pockets to deal with it (much like anything i guess!)

Yes the auto is a downer, but you have no choice. No AWD manual available.

Ultimately, if your after a drivers car nothing will compare to a GT-R. I suggest coming down to sydney and driving a PNM35/PM35/NM35 or even anything with the V35 platform VQ35de and you will soon get the picture. If you have s**t to haul/ family/dog and are after something different to a commonwhore or whatever, the M35 is awesome.

I'm selling my toy now which is an R33 GTR and really want something more modern and the practicality of the wagon in 05 or 06 year has really grown on me. I have driven a couple down at North Shore prestige and really liked the n/a 3.5 and it's turbo potential.

If it's got good modification potential then that's great.

I owned a laggy TO4 powered gts-t a long while back in auto form. I actually don't mind the auto with a shift kit and think 3.5 ltr should help avoid too much lag in a turbo application.

And yes I got a wife and little monkey as well as a dog, so another wagon in the family won't hurt.

Good. At least you have driven one, rather than try to imagine what they are like! The ATTESA system from series one to two changed. I believe skylines/M35 series 1 all run a pump/hydraulic system (i think). The PNM35/G35x run a electromagnetic clutch plate to power the front wheels. This is the same type of system as the R35 GT-R uses- therefore it must have some merit eh? Doubt same parts are used between the cars though!

So, yes, its completely different to a GTS-4, R32-34 GT-R's, C34's etc.

hi all, long time reader first time poster.

I was just curious if anyone can tell me what the exact differences between the m35 stagea, ARX, AXIS & autech models are?

I am about to buy one and i like to confirm.

From my suspicions the ARX is fully optioned and has a higher ride height with flared guards.

The AXIS is fully optioned without the height and flared guards.

Autech just a body kit?

Are they are other variants?

I would also like to know the options available.

I know of Sunroof, Fog Lights, TV, Motorised Rear Mirrors, Rear Cam, Front Cruise Control Sensor, Leather etc. Though id like to confirm what are indeed the standard options and what exactly are the aftermarket options.

Appreciate your help.

youre pretty much bang on. M35 denotes the Stagea chassis, it goes RS/RX, ARX, AXIS that are available in australia in 2.5L AWD turbo engines.

ARX had LSD and hicas from factory, both optional on RS and AXIS model. RX not being available for some reason.

except that Autech made the AXIS model. there is no autech model as such, however the aero selection models sometimes have autech stickers on the back. no idea why as they are manufactured by nissan

in the later model M35s there was a 350S which was a 6-speed manual RWD 3.5L model.

Hmm, seeing as the call for English translation for the series 2 M35 information/navigation screens is still not quite done (and I have no idea how close it is to completion, so this might be pointless), I'm wondering if the UK or USA system would help in getting it finalised.

hmmm... looks like a different system again. The shots that I saw didn't look anything like my menu's. But I have not a clue if that has anything to do with converting it!

So in reference to the Autech/Axis models.

How do we know if they are a genuine Axis. Are they stamped somewhere on the chassis or do they have a plate??

Or is it just a bodykit and wheels that we have to rely on as evidence??

I don't know if this has already been posted, as I didn't want to read through 38 pages of what seems mostly personal stuff.

What's the official 0-100 time for the M35 250t RX? I did a few test runs today and the lowest I got was 8! Is this fairly accurate? I wasn't using the tiptronic mode and didn't plant my foot down 100% - read somewhere that in 1st the throttle is automatically limited to 30% anyway...
