check grounding as well it might be that ..

could be your clutch fan. my 33 sedan auto has a whining/whirring sound at certain revs. at first i thought it was the auto, but now im thinking it could be the clutch fan. ive been told the clutch locks up in them and the fan tries to spin at the same rpm as the engine.

i'll let you know how i go with mine
