Ok heres the deal.... I found a stagea AWD DET longblock fitted with an rb20det head. It has a spun rod bearing but the fellow only wants a few hundred bucks for the longblock.

The engine will be used in a drift car. Aiming for 300-350hp along with other characteristics that define a great performing drift engine.

I have done some searching around and found one thread in particular that lists parts used in a similar rebuild. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...hl=rb25+rebuild

Any thoughts on how any of that would apply to my rebuild?

Im pretty much looking for a list of recommended parts, machining, DIY upgrades, etc.. that would apply to my rebuild.. Particularly, in regards to bottom end rebuild and head modifications. I'd like to do this right the first time. So, feel free to include those "not necessary, but useful" upgrades/machine work.

Im assuming everyone is going to recommend ditching the 20 head for rb25det head?

I've already looked into the RB head oil feed issue and will be correcting that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers!

are you buying that off of canadianskyline in alberta canada?

i would just buy his neo if you are, less bullshit, good price.

Ya. I'm planning on buying that longblock.. Im looking for an engine project that i can build over the season.. I just did a 1jz swap in my other car so im not looking to spend a bunch on another complete engine.. Just want something for a lil cheaper that i can take my time on and doesnt take up to much space. I can throw this on a stand and keep it in my shed until im ready to rock on it...

As for that link to the other engine.. I'm in Canada so factor in shipping and it wouldnt be practical for me to buy a cooked engine from over seas.

just fix up that 20 head u should be able to get quite a bit of power out of that head fairly cheap, unless u can find a 25 head elsewhere.its a good deal and you should be satisfied especially if you have the time to wait.
