Help Trying To Get Turbos Off My 33gtr

You need one of these ^

Then point at said turbos and say:

Concealment Charm

Which means:

Used to conceal something so that it cannot be seen.

I can lend a hand if you need. I *might* be able to organise hoist time for a reasonable rate if you need.

Although there is the obligatory requirement of a slab

Its not a 5min job... a hoist helps... if you dont then a trolley jack is a MUST otherwise its a no-go.

What are you gonna use the hoist for? Lifting out the turbos? I didn't realise they were so heavy

Seriously though, pull out your spanners, screw drivers, sockets and just start pulling things off. Pulling things apart is easy! just remember how it goes back together again.

More to point, its not a job you can 'just' do from the over the top of the engine bay.

You need to get under the car more than once as dumps have to come out, turbos have to be dropped in a certain order etc etc.

Not everything is accessible i believe from over the top. Youm must go underside on a few occasions.

So on a trolley jack/stands... going up/down a few times is a pain the the a$$. It can be done, but a hoist makes life a lot easier and faster.

A digi cam is your best mate, take LOTS of photo's then go through them backwards when putting it together again, works a treat

Just give is a squirt of WD40 or similar 1-2hrs before you start.

What exactly is "seized" as such?

With leverage, nothing is too hard to remove, just need to think of different ways to approach it sometimes... that was my biggest challenge with my low-mount/ext gate setup. The obvious way wasnt the easiest/best

yeah manifolds to head dump pipes to front pipes plus this is my first time i've pulled a gtr apart so dont really wana brake anything cause its costs alot to repair almost at point of droppin it off at racepace an let them deal with it!!!!!!!

Grab some tools, you plus the rest of the tools in the tool box should be able to work out how to get bolts off.

Its not that hard, any mechanic should know what to do.

out of curiosity, why are you taking them off? upgrade? gasket? just checking?

yeah seriously i build race cars everyday but neva come across something with so many problems changing for upgrade doesnt matter got it off now
