Friends Car, Jacked At Chipping Norton And Bashed..

Recommended Posts

Posting this on behalf of my friend, as her bf got jacked last long weekend (APEC holiday).

I only just found out today.. Otherwise would have posted ealier. Shes so upset and angry.. as anyone would .. anyways

Heres the Story:

He is in the process of selling his Honda Integra Type R 2000 model and was met by a guy posing as an interested buyer. They met at Warwick Farm (syd) and after a pretty long conversation the guy asks to take it for a test drive. The owner jumps into the passenger seat and they take off.

After driving for 5 mins he mentions to the owner that a mechanic friend of his wants to also come along for the test drive, they turn the corner and he starts slowing the car down. As he comes to a stop 2 hooded guys run and open the passenger car door and start smashing the owner of the car in the face with a metal baseball bat. They then pull him out of the car and continue to hit him a few more times, before all jumping in and taking off with his car.

The owner of the car is left with pretty nasty injuries. They hit him so hard in the face they knocked his teeth out. He was hospitalised but is ok now.

The guy that orchestrated the robbery is around 175cm tall, asian decent and has an eyebrow ring. There are some pics of the car they stole attached. So if anyone see's the parts start popping up Im sure the owner Michael would really appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks for your help

Pics in a sec..

Cheers

Dammit man, these people are f**king dogs. It makes me so angry to hear about this. Poor fella :nyaanyaa:

Karma works in wonderful ways though... I hope the f**ker cuts himself while dismantling the car and get some form of rare tetanus lock jaw that breaks all of his teeth too!

Pics are all up now..

Sad thing is, the guy who stole the car full sounded nice on the phone and in person.. Asked legit questions about the car etc etc..

sigh..

So guys please keep an eye out on parts etc..

Could someone maybe post this in honda forums? lol

^ he did have someone..

But he wanted to go for a drive.. guessing due to being two doors, his friend stayed back..

like i said, my friend who saw him(guy who stole the car) looked fine, normal, sounded sweet etc etc hahahha..

Anyways what has happened has happened..

Just keep an eye out please!!

edit: yea ke kept calling from a private number.. Hope he just made his mobile private so it can still be tracked and didnt use public telephone!!

Sad to hear this.

Worse part is that everything appears legit up until the last seconds...

Even if you had someone with you, they'd probably get the shit beaten out of them too.

Any ideas on how to stop this from happening?

Maybe take the guys license?

if i were to sell my car

no one would drive it a part from me (that is just for insurance reasons mate)

pick your area for the drive

get your largest/ugliest mates to drive behind you

I actually had to meet the bloke who sold me the car out the front of the local cop shop

any other cars involved

how did he turn up to your mates place, walking?

siddr20, post it up on ozhonda... I've sent my mate who's the owner a msg asking him to post up a link to this thread, but you might be better off posting direct maybe.

* Inspection date organized

* Leave the car for sale at home / workshop / another location

* Arrange to meet buyer in public location (servo, Maccas)

* Ask to check ID and take down details for security

* If it looks legit, take buyer to location where car is kept

* If it doesn't look legit, walk away

I'd personally never be driving my car during an inspection to the buyer's directions... if they got somewhere to go, they can go in their own time.

I'd also never be taking my car to their prescribed location... that's just like walking into the lion's den.

ok.. stealing a car is one thing.. but the fact that this guy went to a considerable effort to seriously injure this guy (well beyond what would have been required to steal the car) is what shocks me.

I'm sooooo glad your mate got out alive......I imagine if he tried to fight back, he would have ended up much MUCH worse off :(

funkymonkey- Thank you very much!! whats the link to ozhonda? Guess i will sign up

Satanic- Its when hearing these situations/stories you then get educated. I have read these types of stories plenty of times, so i know what to do when it comes to selling a car.

But unfortunately some people dont think about these things..

I have actually met the owner of that honda once.. Very nice guy and its pretty built for his size.. But when you have three guys, with say baseball bats etc.. not much you can really do..

I know his gf well.. she works with me etc.. shes was so upset and angry!!

He seems to be recovering fine now.. few fake teeths etc

    • I replaced the whole clutch line with the chase bays braided hose, I think it removes that loop, is it the short hose that comes immediately off the slave or is there a drawing in the manual to find what you’re referring to? It was just re-bled when I upgraded to the nismo slave, old slave worked fine but I thought that might help, didn’t change a thing. It’s like the first half of the pedal is pushing air and then when it finally actuates the master the friction zone is tiny. Makes it practically impossible to launch the car
    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
