As the title suggests, just wanting to know what is considered healthy compression for an RB26. My last one was between 173-176 accross the board. I was just looking at another car that came up cheap and the claimed comp test results were between 145-155 accross all cylinders which seems to me a little low.

Is it low or reasonable for a claimed 65,000 km engine?

depends on the guage they used too.

Different guages, different readings - like dynos.

I bought two of the same guages (cheaper type) One read 30psi too high, and the other 20psi too low.

Tested on my air compressor.

thread revival  got r34 vspec (2000) engine with supposedly 50k on the clock, comp test 135, 135, 135, 135, 140, 135

this was done with battery booster at WOT but with cold engine and all sparkies out

numbers are low but variance is minimal, is that bcoz engine was cold or points to tired engine etc
