More likely to be uni joints. The sudden transfer of acceleration or deccelaration will cause a old uni joint to clunk. Get it looked at i guess. Uni joints can be a dangerous thing if they let go, especially the front one/.......dig in a weeeh pole vault

Mine does it and it sounds a lot like diff slack. Its pretty normal for a car thats had a bit of a hard time or done 150,000kays.

Mine started doing it around 120,000kays. Nothing to be worried about the Lines are as tuff as nails. I've been poping the clutch since day one 60,000kms ago and nothing has broke.. :) Gearbox whines a little and diff clunks a little (only when a little rough with accelerator or gearchanges)

Lol.. Have you driven a ford lately.. My old mans Auto ford used to do it all the time.

Wouldn't worry about the uni joint as the split tail shaft is there to help save your arse if it lets go.. I've heard story's about the old single piece tail shafts letting go and lifting the car in the air.

my 32 dose this also, i can hear it when i take off slowly, it sounds like there is some play between the cogs in the diff. but i thought it was from me being a dic!< head once and letting the clutch out too soon while the "E-BRAKE" was still on a bit when i was getting sideways?!

All of my diff cradle bushes, those for the entire rear end K-frame are knackered and it makes a loud clunk when backing off. It's got progresively worse over the last year. Nissan quoted me $3000 to fix it with an entirely new K-frame from Japan... I decided to go a second hand jobbie for now (much cheaper!)

the little boomp you all hear when u pump ur accel at 70 ish is a slightly worn diff....nothing to concern you at all...if you get it lapped it will prolly fix it...but there isnt much point.......its nothngs...forget its even there.........if it annoys u...fix it. it is just minor slap between the teeth of the crownwheel and pinion.........

I've owned a few cars and the line is definately the toughest.

Gearbox (even though the RB20t is the weakest of them), diff & chassis are damn strong.

Lol.. My old VS within 9 months broke the rear IRS chassis from the diff mount, gearbox went as did the Diff.

If my gearbox went today I would be happy as it has lasted so damn long with lots of second and third gear snaps.

Have faith, the Lines are a tough car, just drive it and don't worry... :(

My diff has always clunked a little. Even my dads patrol does the same and its been babyed since new.

Take it from me you won't break the diff easily. My dif is quite worn now as it doesn't pull two wheelers anywhere as much as it did. Mainly me being bad to it.That problem should be fixed soon as I have a cuso 2 way centre at home.Cant wait to get it in hehehe. I can't beleive how well the old diff is putting up with the bashing I give it.
