hey guys

i have a new problem

- when i stop at lights or slow right down to do a U turn or something it will just stall/turn off every now and then not all the time but is more occuring as i got it home

- in boost its rough and jerky? like its not boosting right or something?

i cant see any vaccum leaks it has a aftermarket wold 3d v4 computer in it could this be causing any of these problems?

i had the blow off valve come off its housing the other day if thats of any help but i really need help i have no idea ive only had this car since thursday

even a list of things it coudl be would be helpful

any help is good thanks

it still starts tho and the BOV is still on

as u may or may not know i had the BOV come off on me so it could be leaking thruogh that?

basicly if i pull that loud shit BOV off and put a standard one on i might fix all my issues. Is that what ur saying?

the bov seems pritty tight on there and it wasn't acting like this before i blew it off the housing?

does the boost leak explain why it randomly stalls in idle and when left idleing it may just stall every now and then after a while

when i turned it back one once or twice it just stalle straight away then i turned it bck on and it came close to stalling twice before returning to normal idle? (has done that twice, once with only me and once when showing my bro my issues after gettng him out of bed to drive to my house and have a look lol)

its GFB BOV and yea it is venting to the atmosphere (not plumb back)

what other info do u need to give a better idea on things?

(off to bed will check topic in morning for updates)

How much boost you running? when I hit 15-16psi My standard fuel pump does not like it. and jerks me around and I lose complete power. also makes me look stupid, so I envested in turnning the boost down a tad.

gonna change the BOV

just buoght the brand new turbo smart dual port BOV and the adaptor plate for a R32 and the plumb back port needed to be taken off and a plate they have put over it so i undo 3 of the screws and the 4th one was really really tight... that tight the head snaped off the screw :( cant take it back till thursday night cus of work.

but if that doesn't fix my issues i dunno i cant see where it could be leaking? ive looked at all the pipes couldn't find anywhere with a cut or nick or anything everything seems nice and tight

its not the blow of valve

how can the bov make a car stall at a high vacuum idle

look at it this way a petrol engine creates vacuum between the throttle butterfly and the valves, now seeing that the bov isnt between the throttle butterfly and the valves how can it be a faulty bov

possibly the vac line to it but its fine and no holes in it.

he has gone out and spent 500 odd $ on a bov he dosnt need because he had people posting that didnt know what they were on about

if you dont understand what is going on DONT POST

Could be inlet gasket on the plenum or leaking injector,

Check by spraying carb cleaner around plenum / injectors and see if the engine revs build / drop.

Standard gaskets on the inlet are renowmed for leaking, put metal ones on :domokun: Or you will be doing it again.

mine has the exact same problem, i checked it out and found a broken fitting connecting the bov to the vacuum line, so i replaced it with a new bov and started it up and left it idling for a few minutes then took it for a drive and 30 minutes later its doing the same thing again, boost is realy jerky and it feels like there is no power. chews fuel real bad too. ??? . my new bov is a hks super sqv so its not like its something cheap from supercrap

In a map sensor application it doesn't matter if it's plumbed back or atmo as there is no air flow meter. The ecu uses the TPS and map sensor as it's primary inputs. dumping air out on gear changes doesn't matter to it.

For todd, the bov issue referred to by the rest of the clowns in this thread is caused by the extra fuel that is being put into the cylinder as a result of the atmo bov dumping metered air in an afm equiped situation. basically, air comes in afm say's you have x amount of air, ecu says ok, i'll put in y amount of fuel, bov dumps most of the air, super rich stall inducing mixtures.

On to the problem(s);

I think you have 2 separate issues, 1) the return to idle tune is up to shit and needs to be looked at. As with the bov, a vacuum leak in this situation won't cause you to stall. I'd suggest going to see a tuner who is familiar with this type of ecu and get him to take the car for a drive and see for himself. If it's stalling some of the time, i expect it is overshooting the idle revs on decel all the time and dropping to 3-400 regularly which it shouldn't do either. 2) the surging on acceleration is possibly coils, possibly a dodgy highflow (i don't know what sort of turbo you have), possibly dying fuel pump. Again, if you go and see a tuner and get the car run up on the dyno you can check for fuel, you can hear compressor surge, you can hear and see missfires.

ur all wrong!!!

if u eva need help just take it to someone who knows there shit dont waste ya time with this they wont charge u for a little advice

vac leak? boost leak? nope

tune + spark plugs = all good

still has a little crazy idle but that is gonna get looked at at a later date as its no longer stalling and he said it is now good to go come back in a few weeks if the idle is still over correcting itself so much

most likly the little motor that controls it because he said he knows its now nothing to do with tune

    • Meh. I "see" a typo above, that should have been "sell".
    • The clutch pedal has a procedure for adjustment. This can only be done after you are 100% sure the system is absolutely free of air bubbles. You must bleed the clutch master cylinder first, then the "separation pipe" which is the clutch damper line, then the operating cylinder as detailed in the service manual. Also, you must fully depress the clutch pedal between shifts. Just because you can't feel it grabbing does not mean the input shaft is truly decoupled from the crank. At high RPM clutch plates are vibrating and moving around, you need to give it the best possible chance of success. On the BCNR33 Nissan revises these adjustment procedures slightly but not by much: I would be careful with trying to play games with these adjustments. As for the Nismo operating cylinder they say a lot of things. In practice the twin plate clutch needs less movement on the clutch fork to disengage because the whole stackup of the flywheel + friction plates + pressure plate is much taller. Personally if you find that the clutch still disengages too high at the top of the travel I would try the Nismo operating cylinder. Make sure to follow the air bleed procedures.
    • Thank you for the links. I’m going to go with the 6pin plug you used. next step is rust treating re painting dash support bar and steering column then the 6pin cradle plug when it arrives in the mail.
    • I don't how much the car makes a difference or whether it is just a question of gearbox and clutch. On mine it's fine. Pull type Nismo coppermix twin (standard, not competition) on the 5 speed in my Stagea. OEM slave cylinder. Bite point is a few cm off the very bottom of the pedal. Clutch pedal all the way down to put in gear, and when heading off at the lights, there's a tiny bit of nothing and then it starts biting. And fully engaged before the pedal is all the way released. There's a bit of play at the top where the pedal does nothing anymore. Are you in Australia @ck_chino? If you are set on using a Nismo slave cylinder I have one new-in-box at home. Ordered it together with the clutch but didn't get it fitted. We can work something out if you want it
    • I am using a pull nismo coppermix twin in an r34 getrag box, had both the standard slave and  then the nismo one. Adjusted pedal to get bite point how I wanted , it is on the higher side, but would fully disengage past half way down.  I also read that the nismo slave won't work but I had no issues with the stroke, might become one later as clutch wears but 2+ years of happy motoring so far.  Take the above as one input only, specially as my setup is a bit unique in that I am using an S15 clutch master , cefiro clutch pedal, custom braided clutch line. Lots of variables at play.
