Hey guys,

Just bought my new toy (R34GTR)..

It came with a dvd/tv headunit which has the usual cd, radio and also a dvd player, TV and navigation in built.

There are 2 problems im facing.

1) When i try to use the cd functionality, meaning cd/dvd, it wont accept the cd's, as in it wont take the cd. If i press the cd mode it will display a screen which has all cd options like scan, repeat etc but along the top it says NO CONNECTION.

I know the answer sounds obvious but wat im after is some info as to why this is happening and if it is possible to fix??

I dont know how these double din multi function headunits work but i was thinking maybe the cd player part is not wired up properly. any ideas???

2)My second question is for those who have in car TV's. When im driving the signal quality is pretty dodgy at times and im just after some advice on singal amplifiers or antennas which others have used to amp up the tv signal???

any help appreciated.

cheers

Mass,

yep some one..

to be honest - pull the thing out and bin it. if ti plays DVDs it will be locked to region 1 and anything you chuck in it won't play.

as for TV - not a lot you can do there. too many variables on the move. digital helps but its still patchy.

hmmmm spewing tho coz its fairly new. its one of those eurovox ones, not so cheap. i had a look for some prices they are around the $1500-1800 mark...

i might give them a call and ask them wat the error message means. i had a look at the wiring and it all seems fine.

bin it. seriously. I have a customer with one that spent $500 on it getting it repaired only for it to fail 3 days later!

the transports on them die and there are NO parts available as the company is no longer in business. if you find a BLAUPUNKT item (IE aspen or chicago) its the same unit with the same problem. I have one of those that I took out of stock for that reason alone.
