Hi guys,

As I'm sure everyone knows I'm going through a huge round of upgrades to the GTR. Whilst this is happening I thought of diff bushes.

Nismo make the following bushes:

55470-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (rear)

55476-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (front)

55474-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (front upper)

55475-RS580 NISMO Diff Mount Bush (front lower)

They are not cheap with the prices being approx as follows:

$100 each

$20 each

$10 each

$12 each

And my guy in japan seems to think I need 2 of each so we are talking $300 worth of bushes here.

Now I'm guessing the two front ones are easy to replace but how hard is it to put the front and rear halves of the rear bushes into the cradle? does the whole thing have to be removed. and are there any local options that are better or cheaper? or is $300 for the set about right?

Thanks :)

absolute disaster to replace the rear bushes, I can't see how you would do it with the cradle in.

UAS sell full set in urethene for under $100.

I picked up a set the other day to do because the diff was out, and they are the only bushes I haven't done.

Then I looked at it, didn't have a press and was in a rush so I didn't even start.

Anyway....I can swap them for caster rods if you want lol

Get the full kit N-55401-RS590

Full retail from link international is $349 (they have stock too) so im sure you would get it cheaper at trade or through your mate T04Z at autobarn (they are all in the autobarn system.. i think i loaded them about a fortnight ago)

N-55401-RS590; Includes 2 of 55470-RS580, 2 of 55476-RS580, 2 of 55474-RS580, and 2 of 55475-RS580

oh yeah SOB of a job too :(

i cheated i just did the aluminium bit over the old bushes. Was about 90 minutes of work not sure if the ride will be harsh expect it will be but i could not bring my self to remove the whole craddle for one rotton leaking SOB of a bushing.

    • I don’t really have any ideas how to set the timing on the CAS 😂, sounds like the top, sounds like it maybe misfiring as well as ticking,  got the box sorted 😌, must of been a air bubble on the clutch side
    • Use a 2' length of hose (that's 2 foot, not 2 inches) as a stethoscope to localise the source of the ticking. From cam covers? From exhaust or turbo manifold gasket? From injectors? From lower down in the engine? Etc. Use a timing light to set the timing. Put Redline Lightweight Shockproof in the box. It's not the very best thing for the box, but it will take a box that refuses to engage a gear with other oil, and make it engage a gear. I had to put it in when I installed the R33 box I have in my car. It would not select ANY gear when running. Smurf jizz made it work. That was >10 years ago and I still use it. I'm stuck with it now. Failing that - rebuild the box.
    • Well done Duncan. The fuel tank bulkhead lid is also in great condition (some of mine were stuffed). These are now out of production and good ones like that are becoming hard to come by.
    • Wow that's a steal, you've done well there.
