Hey Guys, just got the heads up that Extreme Horsepower promotions has been sold to Geof (former owner of EMTECH automotive).

This means the Extreme Horsepower Show is in for some BIG changes!! There is a new show coming to Adelaide real soon... in fact its scheduled for December 8/9 .

This will be held at wayville showgrounds and is open to ALL categories, such as high-tech, imports, hot rods, bikes, muscle, euro ... you name it.

Judging will be done by the ENTRANTS! .. Each entrant gets a sheet and can score every vehicle on show.(Not just one or two biased pricks that only like monaros!)

Cost is $60 per car includes two tickets and BBQ. Entrants also get FREE DYNO!!

Club displays are limited to six cars only.... so who is keen??

This should be great... now we won't be snubbed for having late model cars and will be elligible for plenty of award categories!!

Contact Shane on 0411475779 or Geof on 0410356356

Extreme Horsepower, South Australia's Ultimate Automotive Expo.

Thanks for the post Hostile, you got most of it correct, confirmed Wayville Showgrounds date of Dec 8 & 9 2007 today, judging by entrants & prizes for that too - no bias, the best car will win, free dyno - is there a Skyline with more power than some of the V8s - I reckon there are. Yes, I want the Hi Tech cars there too, in the past it was more of a V8 show - that is changing.

I am trying to limit the clubs to 6 cars as the public want to see the best a club has to offer. Would you pay $15 to see a car with some mags & window tint? If anybody has any ideas of what they want to see in a show please let me know, I'm commited to making it a good event. Did you know it's the only SA owned carshow at Wayville.

Looking forward to receiving your input.

Cheers

club entrants only 6 aloud? dats abit gay though?

Well not really... how interesting would it be looking at 25 nearly stock commodores? This has been done to keep the quality up. Pick six quality cars to represent the club instead, however Geof may be open to negotiate here??

Oh, have updated first post... entry is $60 not $50 as previously stated.

Sounds like some good changes. Entrant judging will definitely put a new spin on things.

Is the show still going to be called "extreme horsepower"?

If so, them IMO I don't care how good a car looks - if it has a stock engine it doesn't belong there.

As both Geof Hostile said, I do get sick of seeing 20 cars at a show that have a set of wheels, lowered with tinted windows at a car show (and paying for the priviledge) - you see thet on the street every day.

    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
    • February update 🙂 We managed to get the very last 1/18th "Extra Scale" cars stock available from bookstores in Kyoto. These are actually the last ones and will not be restocked again! Hachette Collections Japan have not decided on a release date for these or other models in the series, so for the time being these are all there are available new.  These are showing up on Yahoo auctions at inflated prices already (especially the Celica and NSX) so get yours now at a very reasonable price before they disappear!
