From what i've read the standerd F430 is faster than the standard Lambo. Si i'd imagine the Scuderia would be faster than the superlegs.

Yeah sure. But, cometh the rain, a 430 would be nowhere. It's akin to Jimmy being a winner in the dry in a GT3, but struggling in the same car in the wet.

In 2004 Phil Griffin wanted to run his 360 Challenge Stradale road car, but was told no due to lack of numbers built.

oh don't worry, we don't have $400,000+ laying round to get a Ferrari, plus the rest to get it ready. Our good ol R33 will do us for a while.

One of the biggest surprises for us this year was how much faster the top guys are to everyone else, don't get me wrong we didn't expect to be near them, we just didn't think the differnce would be that big.

Glenny's nav must of taken the brave pills to ride with him when he had the GT-R.

Yep both Tony and Steve have new GTRs on order - hopefully they can get them prepared in time to be competitive

Ok, so hopefully there'll be two R35 GTR's next year, and Heaphy told me over the weekend that he expect two Evo X's to be finished for it as well, though likely at this stage competing in Showroom.

I'll be watching with interest

Personally, I have a possible option of driving a Bullet Roadster in the 2009 event, but after the terrible event at Buller last weekend I'm steering clear of open cars.

We're doing a release on Tony's car. Don't think Steve will run one talking to him yesterday, but I know of three others that are trying to be sourced for the event. Certainly be two will run, maybe more.

On the way to Buller I spoke to one guy who was buying an Evo X for next year and others are talking to Heaphy and us... 4WD Showroom has people thinking.

Well with the help of Stu and BMS we are putting my car back into Targa Spec . i plan to do as many Hill climbs as possible next year and get a feel for the lack of power, and run Rally Tas and Burnie Rally in 2009 and debut in the Rookie section on Targa Tas in 2010. as long as i can get enough sponsership to help me out a bit.

Nissan GT-R confirms Targa appearance in 2008

Fresh from its world-wide unveiling at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, the new Nissan GT-R will make its Targa Tasmania debut in 2008.

The car has been entered by motorsport identity Tony Alford and will run in the stand-out Donut King colours.

The GT-R is described by Nissan as “an ultimate supercar for anyone, anywhere, at anytime”.

The car features a newly developed Premium Midship package, including the world’s first independent transaxle 4WD developed independently by Nissan.

Under the hood, the Nissan GT-R features an all-new 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 “VR38” engine, producing 353kW at 6400rpm and maximum torque of 588Nm from 3200 to 5200rpm.

Targa Tasmania event director, Mark Perry, is delighted that the GT-R will be on show to motorsport fans in Tasmania when the event is held from April 15-22.

“This car will be, I’m sure, very popular with spectators and fellow competitors,” Perry said.

“It really ensures Targa is a great showcase for all things automotive. At one end of the spectrum we have a huge range of classic cars, dating back to the 1930s, then we have the latest performance cars that have only just been released.”
